- In his first interview after facing electoral defeat, Biren Singh acknowledged that both the Centre and state governments have failed to meet public expectations, causing discontent among people in the hills and the valley. Singh emphasized the need for Central forces in Manipur to support state initiatives and reassure original tribal communities that the government targets only outsiders arriving post-1961. When asked about a potential visit from the Prime Minister, Singh stated that the PM's travel plans are not the primary concern.
