- In this video tutorial, I’m going to clearly explain the Pearson correlation test. I will not be covering the detailed maths involved in the test, but instead provide a gentle introduction as to what a Pearson correlation test is. I will also discuss the Pearson correlation test assumptions.
The take home message is that a Pearson correlation test measures how the direction and how strong a linear correlation is between two continuous variables.

may I ask, are all pearson correlation always reciprocal? from the example you mentioned, can the response variable be an explanatory variable, and vice versa?
I ask because it's a bit confusing to differentiate "correlation association" and "regression"
keep posting

Would we say the density of predators and prey be considered dependent observations?

Hi, I am a doctor and doing MD, for my thesis work I need your help, I have 2 diseases- D1 & D2, and one medicine- M, each disease contains 20 patients. My objective is :- 1) To find the effect of M on D1. 2) To find the effect of M on D2. 3) To compare the effect of M in D1 & D2. For this which test is required and how to calculate on excel 2007, Thanks

"Axes" is the plural of "axis". So one should say "x axis" and "y axis", not "x axes" etc.
Apart from that pedantic criticism, your explanation was very clear. Thank you.
