As a programmer, I'd say that should be doable. It would just need a TwitchApi integration for stream start/end notifications, and to link that with turning on the light. If the lamp doesn't do this natively, it could probably be done even at home, but it might require additional hardware, like a Raspberry Pi or Arduino.

@@Bulldogg6404 Nah, its his educated judgement. Not only that the thing is expensive, he also needs at least 4000 sold. Thats unheard off for something as niche as lavalamps.
@@Bulldogg6404 I truly believe it when he said the only reason he’s doing the lava lamp thing because it’s felt cool to him. As Vedal said and from my experience studying accounting, selling plushies would net him a way larger profit for both being more affordable (thus, demand) and larger margin (you can sell like $40 per plushie that cost a fraction a lava lamp would).
Please everyone be careful with the adapter and plug in Europe. It's a bit shady and those travel adapter's are horrid things. It's probably saver to buy it without it and then buy your own.
That's nicknamed a death adapter apparently by electrical guys. Don't use it with the adapter or other shady cheap poor constructions from the same country. EU plug would not have been hard to include, it is a very popular plug and electrical standard. I am confused why this was not an option.
If you put an 220V device into 110V, it won't burn hard but will be undervolted (no sh%t sherlock) and if it miraculously worked - it will draw twice as much current (beeg current is bad for wiring) for the same Power. But put a 110v device into a 220v outlet...
Now we wait for the reveal that the things run off of one of the cheap ARM chips mostly so that they can form a sketchy botnet. Though trying to do any serious computation while the lava lamp is on is a great way to overheat a CPU.
Where are you getting £80 from? It's listed at £51.20 and even with shipping it cost me £57.51. Still not cheap for a lava lamp but when it's a specific design and can connect to Neuro's stream that seems fairly reasonable. Standard regular lava lamp cost I'm seeing is between £20-£30
@flippanties it's actually £73.40 all together when price, tax and shipping costs are all added together, so not quite 80 you're right but the best part of it. Still more than I'm willing to pay for a lavalamp. Oh and that's estimated taxes, considering how fucked Brexit has us in the UK and the new government I'd be surprised if it doesn't go up...

Pretty sure people can still order it if there is more demand then 4000. 4000 is the minimum, Vedal mentioned no max. People have like 50 days to make a decision so I feel like if people wanted it they would have enough time to get it
I mean... You probably could've just waited... I don't think its that limited, there's just a minimum established for them to be made, so I doubt you'd miss your chance to get one before any issues were fixed with the website... The bundle does look pretty nice though anyway... Oh well...
A mug-sized lava-lamp model with a cylindrical low-res LED-array screen behind a dark difusor (the difusor would be conical to match the lava-lamp profile), or a PoV spinning custom PCB display for volumetric effects and with less need for a difusor (protected by the conical glass/acrylic) , with a RasPiZero hidden inside the base by that default syncs to the official stream lamp but can be hacked by the owner to do anything if desired?
Tbf Lavalamps with color change go for like 30-40€. If we say + 50% markup for it being limited merch + some engineering and cloud infrastructure to connect it to the stream, it doesn’t seem like the worst product. 4000 buys is kind of a big ask tho…
I was gonna get one and was ok with $50-55 but the total is $81.18, like if i can get a discount code or something then i can justify it but that's just to much.
I don’t any any potentially explosive electronics in my home synced to the will of an AI, thank you. 😬 But I guess as long as all she can do is change the color it’s okay?..
Now imagine it automatically turns on when a stream starts so it also acts as a notification.
I actually wonder if it would, or maybe it would give us a better idea of how much he works on her outside stream.
I'm pretty sure he said it would not.

the mad tutel actually did it

So bouncy, very cute
It’s the more giggle physics she was asking for.
Tutel gonna get seasick.
