I like to run immortal with a Chrono and warden gauss( meq) and run up and take with some flayed ones as sheild. Triarch stalker and warriors on the other front.
Really glad to see these guys werent neglected, warriors seemed to be the 'star of the show' showing off the resurrection gimmick I was worried immortals wouldnt compete
I like running immortals w a technomancer w control node and doomstalker in tow. Has been a nice combo for cleaning objectives, secondaries and avoid getting shot at as doomstalker is usually the target. Warriors are great at just holding the midfield and just doing whatever.
I rate Immortals above Warriors. I played my first few games of 10th with Warriors because everyone put them in A tier, but then I tried Immortals and they're just better. They're cheaper, they're tougher, and being able to advance and get up to 60 shots is insane. I played 3 games today and the amount of shots I got out of my Immortals was baffling to my opponents. Put Nemesor and/or a Plasmancer with them and you're laughing. I personally use an Overlord to reanimate them as much as possible.
And remember, that "Lord of the Pyrrhian Eternals" also adds +1 to the woundroll in melee. Also very nice. I played him with imortals, chonomancer and thralls, but they got shot very bad by a few untis and died after i rolled bad for their attack in my turn. I was so hoping to see some tesla bbq last game.
The Anrakhyr/Plasmancer/Immortal (gauss) is my current auto-include, it's REALLY good :) I also play with Szeras, and uh... yeah, it's kinda mean haha. They do some heavy work against pretty much everything to be honest. Dealing 5-6 wounds a turn on Monsters or Termis, while having 3-4+ saves all the time is pretty great. I mean, it's a battleline unit that kills Magnus in 2 turns.
I'm actually about to paint up my Indomitus Overlord as Anrakyr to try exactly this combo. The plasmancer does work enough on his own, adding Anrakyr sounds hilarious. Same with Szeras
@@crazyshak4827 Szeras is kinda dope to be honest. With a full unit of warriors and of Immortals, it's VERY unlikely that the opponent is going to send AP-2 or AP-3 into them, so most of everything they will be shot at with is AP-1. You basically have constant 3+ saves on all your battlelines, if you get some cover. Also, all of the leaders in said units will get will get the Szeras bonus :p
Warriors can hold the objectives/midfield, and tie up the opponent’s resources, but the Immortals will *cleanse* an objective of whatever enemy unit is unfortunate enough to be occupying it, especially with the Plasmancer (landing those mortals against a big unit is icing on the cake)
Hey bud, I bet you remember our many debates on immortals in 9th. Now, I love them! Been running them in a test list, 2x 10 with with all the bells and whistles, illuminor szeras. They do great, bust part is you can run them in stead of lychguard in many cases they can survive vs most things that Lg shrug off. Best part is, if they do get killed it’s half the points of a LG brick…also nemmisor zhandrek is a great addition to an immortals team, 2 /3 times his ability is relevant, the vect ability is incredible in so many matchups
I also prefer immortals and lychguard as infantry. Warriors are too costly with too large of a footprint for my playstyle. I'm still trying to figure out if I run them as Gauss long range or lean into tesla with illuminor for the extra AP
Lychguard above all. Leave the shooting to the big guns (lokhust heavies and doomsday arks), and clog up the midfield with the almost unkillable bricks.
I like to run a squad of 10 with tesla, chronomancer, and royal warden, advance forward shoot the heck out of something, intimidate the hell out of the opponent, then run and grab a first turn objective.
Worth mentioning nemesor zandkha. If your feeling lucky giving tesla immortals devastating wounds is huge! Or giving Gauss extra hits is great. But yes you do run the risk of rolling an ability you already got 😢
10x Tesla + Plasmancer has been my board clearer they only hit wall Vs 2+ save but anything else is deleted. Two doomstalkers deal with 2+ easily though.
I think Immortals can becomes a very good ranged melee unit, If you take a 10 man squad, with a tecnomancer (the plasmancer makes them a ranged unit as it does nothing for them in melee), and an overlord and cryptothralls, The overlord can be anrakyr if you are already taking lychguard Bricks however I do prefer the overlord in the unit simply for the res orb, then have that unit escort Illuminor Szeras. with protocol of the hungry void and Illuminar szeras the cryptothralls become 8 attacks ws3 S6 AP3 with full re rolls to wound on units on the objective on top of 20 attacks ws2 S5 ap2 d1. Also that unit ignoring 1 ap even in melee with a Hypermaterial abblator on the unit as well is actually a lot tougher than you would think. Now this is 570 point combo but I kinda think it is worth it. I have had nothing but success with it.
Personally, I have found that even with cryptothralls warriors are just not beefy enough to last long enough to be worth the points. I ran a blob of 20 with an overlord, thralls, plasmancer, and a ghost ark within 3”….. lasted till T2 and were crushed in several games. Went against tau, tryanids, black templar, and space wolves. Result was the same. T2 at best. Lychguard just last longer…
I have said this before and I will say it again: In my Opinion, if you have immortals, there is absolutely no point in fielding warriors. for 2 points more per model, only 2!!! You get: Better toughness, better armour save, better ballistic skill, better weapon options, and insanely strong offensive ability, and an absolutely insane combo with the plasmancer that nets you an average 30 hits out of 20 shots. Heck, you even get better melee with a better weaponskill, although that point is more or less moot. But either way, there is just no way I'm fielding warriors if I can have all that for only 2 points more.
I think it comes down to play style. I like immortals a lot now but that said I love nothing more than to park a warrior blob in the centre and yell come at me bro and watch them tank it all

Warriors are a tarpit. Immortals Do work. Thats how i run them. I dont even care much about warriors shooting.. just sit and stay.

I like running my Immortals with a Royal Warden with Plasmancer. Gives a gauss assault so i can still get to objectives and shoot.
Played a game last night against guard. Had 10 with The Traveler and plasmancer.
They were devastating against his infantry.

Two units of ten, both with a Plasmancer, one with Anrakyr, one with an Overlord, and then Szeras in the middle 😄 I need to try this.
Love Anrakyr + Plasmancer in Tesla. In general love Tesla for an overwatch option, just stacks loads of saves on just abt any target.
I rate Immortals above Warriors. I played my first few games of 10th with Warriors because everyone put them in A tier, but then I tried Immortals and they're just better.

i kinda like both in honesty, different roles but immortals are not taking a back seat to warriors here

At some point yes

I Might need to look at nemesor for them again
Zhandrek and Szeras, hell yeah!
Had a bit more testing with nemesor. Loved it

Deathmarks are also super strong per points.
I like tesla because lethal hits doesn't synergise as well with there ability thought that would be worth a mention
Good point.
Thank you

Though if you have Illuminor they get an extra AP. On Tesla its nuts.
thank you as alway :)
Hi Guys,
what would you recommend 10 immos with anrakyr or an lord?
I just think that they die to fast without an orb
Nemesor also a valid shout. Do you have cryptothralls in already ?
@@Planet40K no i take one pair for the lichguard but maybe i will switch them
Thank you

Wrong cryptek for warriors. I’ve found orikan or a techno is mikes better for the durability
@@Planet40K I agree, I still think immorals or Lychguard are a better choice at the moment. Maybe that will change when we get our codex!!

I still think immortals deserve to have 2 wounds each. 10 wounds total is still way to easy to kill to the man, even with crypto thralls
Yeah. Would be nice to match LGuard
I wonder how it would play out, if you could use Immos in 20 man units.
