Just want to say your channel has helped me so much with my little adopted Yorkie/Chiahuaua mix. He refused to do anything even for food or treats because he was so nervous of everyone. I wanted to teach him tricks to boost his self esteem but I thought it'd be impossible after trying for an entire week just to get him to Sit. I'm happy to say that he is now the most eager and energetic dog and wants to train all day if I let him! We've learned up to 15 tricks now since May; the basic commands, jumping onto my shoulders, putting his toys away, opening and getting inside crate... just to name a few! And most have been thanks to you Zak! Your positive reinforcement and tactics has literally turned him into a confident little pup who wants to please every time He is a completely different dog from the dog home. He was terrified, shaking, and wouldn't even eat for 2 days. Treats didn't interest him one bit, hence the struggle just to teach him basic commands like Touch or Sit. But he overcame that fear and is now the most loving, loyal little guy I could imagine. Though still shy with people, he has come a long way and is gaining confidence everyday! I'm so eager to teach him more tricks and this video just gave me so many ideas! Though it's a bit advance, my dream would be to teach him to do the Spiderman trick at the end. Not sure if he's THAT ready yet though! And to anyone looking into getting a dog, ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!! I promise, you will find your best friend for life at a shelter, pound, or rescue group. :)
The Super Collies I watched this last month and my 1 year old collie can now stand up on the wall! So happy with him! He will be hand standing in no time!
I watched Hero at the Calgary Stampede today. What an amazing job by all dogs that performed in the Canine Stars. They inspired me to try and trick train some of the rescues that I work with.
Sara and Hero have been amazing so far on America's Got Talent. I love to watch their routines so it was amazing to see the schooling behind their amazing routines.
Honestly if it wasn't for this channel I would be so clueless on how to teach my puppy to lay down or shake hands or anything. Now he knows so many things. Thank you!
EviePlayzGamezz does that mean border collies are more likely to trust their owners or can any dog trust their owner that much but collies are easier to teach those tricks to?
Captain Usopp border collies are bred to analyze how to get sheep from point a to point b. they brains work faster than most dogs do and they will work all day that's the difference. the trust comes with training them in a way that builds the trust
This is exactly the video I've been needing! My dog is great at all the basic tricks and I've been wondering how to train more advanced things, and now I can!
I've been watching your videos Zak for quite a few months now, and I also watch Americas got talent and its so cool that you two know each other. I've been cheering on Sara and hero since they first walked onto the AGT stage. They're such an amazing duo!
Amazing! I'd love to see more videos like this with expert trainers showing training tips. I think it is a great balance for all of your videos on overcoming common problems like leash pulling and jumping up.
OMG That is kinda time wasting but it's good to go over things that are already known for or your so well with.facts. when dogs sit down 23 muscles are used
I love your videos!!!! They are helping myself and my partner train our 12 week old Corgi pup Alyx. The way you teach really is revolutionary :) If you are ever in the UK and want to make a video with our Corgi pup let us know! Thank you for everything! x
This dog is amazing! And not only the dog but the owner seems to have extreme patient and knowledge of dogs to understand how to teach them to do this! Definetly doing a thumbs up for both of them!
Also, it's not always a choice. If you have an allergy, getting more of a "hypoallergenic" dog from a breeder could be your only option at having a dog.
I think the best part about the video is that the dog looks so happy to do anything she asks. what great communication and love! a wonderful relationship they have!
Wow! They make an incredible team together! It was a great idea to bring Sarah and her dog in one of your videos. Thank you for your work, Zak. You are doing an amazing job with this videos. You helped me to understand and train my dog. Thank you again!
DAMN IT ZAK! I need to wait to move out and get a stable job before I get my next dog... and you uploading videos like this is making it more and more painful to wait!!!!!!!!!!
Hero is amazing. Great video as usual. The end routine had me thinking about the end of the show The OA (Except Hero is actually entertaining lol). Really love your videos and you have "taught" my 3 month old Beagle puppy a lot
Thank you so much zak I rescued a German Shepard boxer mix in late October and started training with him about two weeks ago and thanks to your videos he learned 5 tricks that's more than I thought he could learn In so little time
I just don't have enough thumbs up 👍🏻 to give this video. I love both of you (and the dogs, of course), and seeing you guys together is just awesome! Zak, I think I've watched every single video you've done at least once. I'm so determined to 100% positive train my new puppy (home in 3 more weeks!) and currently researching puppy and dog group classes near me that use your methods. He is going to be a therapy dog in addition to a family member and your videos are so helpful. Thank you!
Absolutely amazing! I had started teaching my aussie some of these but I never thought of going about the tricks that way! It makes so much sense once you see it but wow! Goals!
This video helped a lot because my koolie x border collie pup learns tricks in basically a day, and needs some new ideas to keep her mind busy! Thanks!
Seeing dog and human teams like this makes me so happy I could cry! That's amazing and so sweet! I have a near-90lb golden retriever and I feel like if he were up balancing on the soles of my shoes, he'd fall onto my face! 😂I am so down to try the trick either way!
Zac I LOVE your videos and have taught my puppy so much and learnt how to communicate with her by watching your videos but please put safety warnings on these videos. I was so excited when I saw this video and started training "dance" and the over arm trick when she was 5 months old and recently found repetitive jumping is super dangerous for puppies. I've stopped training jumping tricks and she's fine but I'd hate for someone's dog to get hurt. Again thanks so much for your videos and all your advice!
every time I watch one of these videos I have to aggressively remind myself that I probably don't have the stamina to raise a collie right now. I've been in love with the breed for years and years though. One day...
Could you do a video on "trouble shooting" training sessions? Like when a dog is having trouble concentrating or focusing the things you could do in general. Maybe like if a dog gets the lure but doesn't understand the word just yet? I love how these bits are in your videos sometimes but it would be nice to have a comprehensive video. Maybe one on how you've raised your dogs featuring them too? Id love to see how you maintain the training with them long term and improve!
Awesome! I'm getting a 8 week old corgi soon (when school starts), so I'm hoping to be able to train my dog to do awesome tricks! So that's why I clicked the subscribe button!
