Another great video. I do a lot of repairs for older amateur radio equipment and stereo HIFI receivers, tape decks, tube type amps, etc (1950's to late 1990's) You wouldn't believe the amount of time saving techniques I've learned over the years watching your video's, they really are excellent educational video's for beginners and advanced techs. I would say your soldering technique above all else has saved me the most time when it comes to getting it right and not having cold solder joints all over the place after finishing a project. Thank you.
I do repairs for the secondhand shop I work in. Thanks to your amazing videos, I was able to replace my first HDMI port on an Xbox One S. And you know what? It's now better than factory! Thanks again for posting these videos
Really awesome you had the offset of the button right at first try! Or was this the 100th laptop with this fault and already knew where to place the button on the pad? One reason for this design could be to prevent users from pressing the button too hard and damage it, though it failed anyway. Or they had an surplus stock of these buttons.
My experience on a hp omen. Its the first time i have seen a laptop that powered up by pressing the power button not on the middle , but on the left side. Truly a strange design .
@@maklogetrich2378 its the one with a nvidia 2060 and 9th gen intel cpu and a 15 inch screen. The button is on the upper left separate from the keyboard.
I agree that the design is stupid but, as I work in similar situations, it is simply NOT an engineer choice. The designer of the case wanted it that way for aesthetic reasons, and the technical staff must comply. I do that all the time, saying myself this is idiotic but aesthetics >>>>> practical use
It is 100% an engineer choice. They chose to use a top-down button when they could have used a simple side button. The designer designed it and the engineer over complicated it.
is better to solder 2 wires that stick out of the laptop and connect the ends outside every time you want to short for power on , sleep or shut down 🤣😂 no button required if you dont have any
Alex, If only I had your skills. Do you by chance, as a side hussle, buy broken electronics cheap, fix and sell at a huge profit? Or is running your shop fixing customers electronics enough? I imagine, enough. My house would be filled with every imaginable electronics out there.
I know it wasn’t in this repair but can you show how to identify a capacitor value if it has been shorted and there are no label or identical capacitors nearby?
Am I cooked? I got Asus tuff f15 and not even 2 years use already got error 43 on Nvidia 😢😢 tried everything on Software fix, formatting etc and nothing works.
Low melt solder is one of the best tools ever.

HEY ALEX PLEASE TELL US ABOUT IS THE COMPUTER REPAIR BUSSINESS IS DYING ? IN THE NEXT VIDEO
Nice job, this is technology for technologies sake not for better design.
I swear this button design is infamous now lol. Although I didn't realize how absolutely tiny it is.
Stole Big Boss's chair in the end 😂
No respect! 😂. ❤❤❤
Its only for Bosses and Bosses 😂😂

90 degree tact switch would sort that, Dremel the push switch

Either look at another identical board and see what the values are, or find a schematic for the board.
better than factory :)
Design not only estetic, but to be broken asap...and buy a new one... Bye Francesco Timpano from Florence Italy
Nice work 👏 👌 👍 💪
Maybe make this design because thin board

What a stupid design why didn't they use your button to start with
Terrible design, clearly created to create faults.
Engineers are like that they design things which normal people can’t understand
3rd grade engineer design ....
