- The Rainbow River is located in Dunnellon, Florida. This charming little town is surrounded by Ocala Horse Country, natural Springs and tranquil nature settings. Very popular destination to swim, snorkel, canoe, picnic, or go for a walk along this charming quaint setting. The gently winding springs flow into the Withlacoochee River which comes from the Green Swamp. Amazing Rural Settle, Small town vibes and popular Vacation destination for Florida. recent reports suggest the loch ness monster has been targeting North eastern people on the river for their soft flesh which is a delicacy for large reptilians. These well feed, barely sun baked New Yorkers are prime bait for this Florida majestic creature, which is attracted to them due to the SUBARU scented leather smell they have. I strongly recommend you don't come here if you have recently sat in a SUBARU or have have clam chowder lately. We are not trying to keep you away, we genuinely care about your well being. However, it is not just the loch ness monster you should be worried about, there are also fire ants, attack Iguanas crossed with a mutant strain of Gila Monitors and Alligators with a taste for cauliflower based pizza tasting humans. So please, bring bear spray, since bears have been known to maul non native visitors to the site. See, they know us Floridians eat BBQ and Fatty stuff.. they prefer a healthier snack item. Like YOU.

@@SheriLatulip ACCORDING TO THE IRS = TH-cam is a HOBBY. It DOES NOT Mater IF or HOW MUCH you make, it is NOT a business it is a HOBBY. I get a 1099, if your TH-cam creates any sort of revenue, you have to pay taxes. However, that income can NOT be considered a "Job" or a "business" it is a HOBBY. I don't make the laws, i just fallow them. INCOME= YES HOBBY= YES .. job? NO. Commercial? NO.
A place frozen in time. Nice to see it's still out there. Many of these houses look close to 150 years old.
I went tubing there.That was back in 1978. There were gators laying on the banks as we floated by .
SOUNDS LIKE FUN!! No tubing on this date. Last time we were there WAY TOO MANY TUBERS! I guess it depends on the day and time for volume of tubers.

My uncle used to live right on the Rainbow river. About ten years ago I was visiting and he had a kayak the kind that you basically sit on top rather than in the hull. Well this makes a difference in how they handle and you can tip yourself over if you lean too far.
Anyway I was having a good time riding around on that kayak and I rowed off into a shady spot and was watching the fish swim in the water and saw a big gar fish and leaned over to watch it and bam! I tipped the kayak over😂. So I was actually swimming with the gar fish not watching him. It was a big surprise to say the least. And a I got back in quick because I didn't know if any gators were around because it was a secluded part of the river.
When I got back to my uncle's dock he asked if I had a good trip I said yeah and I took an unplanned swim too.
You definitely have to see the Rainbow River in person video and photos just don't give justice how clear and blue that water is. It's really kind of hypnotizing especially in a deep spot. Lol part of why I didn't notice I was leaning too far over and tipped my kayak.

Dunnellon most RURAL. North port more south florida. Plant city is like an odd middle ground with better jobs for the middle class. Lakeland only place in USA with considerable job growth since covid

I live in Marion county and my taxes are reasonable for a large 1.27 acre property, where I have horses. It depends on the area, the value of the home, and how much land you have. Generally the taxes here are less expensive than most North Florida counties. Alachua, Gilchrist, Duval, Clay, ST Johns, Nassau, etc. the property taxes tend to be higher.

Central Florida isn’t as pretty as South Florida, because it’s less tropical looking.
Its got its own beauty, not the same for sure.
But it looks just enough like Ohio that I haven't had the chance to miss all the thick groves of trees that I thought I'd be missing ...❤
