Note that the dc versus marvel omnibus has a ton of batman stories, at least 7. So I'll get amalgam. He's overused and I am gonna get the bat family knight terrors book called dark knightmares.

Honestly, the Amalgam omni is the one to get. It’s the true Marvel vs DC. Not little crossovers or just JLA/Avengers. It’s the big one.
I never read the full run of marvel vs dc in the 90s but my memory is the Amalgam comics were where true creativity was at play and the traditional versus comics were just dialed in.

Great overview of the upcoming releases. I wish the JLA/Avengers had been included too! If they really wanted to make it complete they should include the two Wizard of Oz issues along with the never published 3rd issue!

Wait a minute - that is the elusive JLA/Avengers collection with the passing of George Perez? How much did you have to pay for that? Wasn’t it like one copy per store? It is ridiculous why they made it so limited. That is not honoring Mr Perez.
It was because they rushed to print in time for the money to help George Perez before he passed away. Printers have print jobs slated more than a year in advance. The only way to get the JLA/Avengers trade printed in that timeframe was to bang out a low print run. Higher than 10K would have had to wait too long for the money to benefit GP.
Now, that’s no excuse for failing to schedule a bigger print run a year later in a shelf-porn worthy format…
Thank you for this. I didn't get to read them when they came out so was trying to decide if I should get this. Think I'll end up getting the Amalgam. Everyone says the stories are kinda eh but I kinda like the silly mashups.

I've been dying for an Amalgam Omnibus! I only managed to get the DC side in trades because Marvel's are over $100 each. I'll definitely have to get the other crossover Omnibus a little later.

Not sure if it is including JLA vs Avengers from the 2000 which would have been cool but if I had to pick one to buy first it would be the marvel Vs DC and wait for a sale for the other book

I've been so on the fence about these since their announcement. I'd love to have all the titles, but Omnibus' seem so large and cumbersome, I can't imagine actually cracking one open and enjoying it. But damn it'll look nice on my bookshelf!
Also, why did they have to use that John Romita Jr image for the cover? It's a big turn off for me.

The Amalgam comics seem to symbolize the 90s excesses - big muscles and boos and crosshatching. That is an easy pass. I was buying comics back then, but don’t remember much of these. They were not really attracting the true talents to work on these books, maybe except Steve Rude.
And they are not giving us the best - JLA and Avengers. I don’t mind an oversized artist edition for $200 if it is done well like IDW books.
Definitely symbolize the 90s excesses. That’s a great way to put it. The DC vs Marvel stuff itself is great though.
Usually if i read a comic and hate it, I'll see someone online praising it as being "just like the 90s"

There were a lot of good comics in the 90s.
I own as follows Superman ve Spider-Man the original 1976 treasury autographed by the late greats Stan Lee and Neil Adams and Jerry Conway who is still with us i own Dc vs Marvel the original 90's comics and JLA VS
AVENGERS and the 4th issue is autographed by George Pérez and the crossovers I own Spider-Man and Batman Silver Sufer and Superman and Daredevil and Batman teen titans ve Xmen all original first prints

If they don't include Magneto and his Magnetic men and JLX I really pass on both of them since I think it's a lack of respect towards the fans. I know what Gerard Jones did and what kind of person he is, he's disgusting and of course I DON'T like him at all, but giving us an incomplete product? Are we fans to blame? Really? No, thanks
