Do you have to deploy a DC? Will it work if you just deploy a Server with the DNS role installed?

Purpose of DC over here is to Integrate Active Directory with your vCenter. You can add your ESXi host to you vCenter even without DC. Only DNS role will be enough

Why do you need a DNS server to run vCenter? I have been able to run it without any of the DNS steps you showed. My main question that got me here is I am trying run a DNS server within the ESXI host and vCenter environment. Based of what you are showing here, I am thinking there is a link between my issues and your tutorial. Thank you in advance for your help. By the way, talking slower would help the audience understand you better. I missed some things because I couldn't understand because you are talking fast. God bless.

With regards to your query, DNS server is recommended not mandatory. Even with IP Address, it will work for you.
