Combustor - Explained

  • This video explains how a combustor inside of a jet engine works. There are dilution holes which serve multiple purposes. This video goes into detail of these purposes and explains how it works.

    I've been watching your videos for years because of car stuffs, but I never knew that you even do explanation of aviation stuffs too, as an airline pilot I give you my total respect for your diversity of engineering knowledge!

    that was PERFECT,,,
    i have wasted lots of time on watching simulation videos on how jet engine works but it didn't help , untill now ,, now i know how it works , thanx man very much for these informations ,

    The flame is required to be kept alive inside the combustor cans, because not all the cans have an spark ignitor and rely on the flame for combustion to happen when fuel is injected. Combustor cans are interconnected which helps the flame travel between the cans with and without an ignitor in it.
