Nice review! I love how factual you are. Most credible reviewer out there. Also great that you show your riding unlike some other platforms... Been looking at this Salomon board for a while now.... The 169 has my name written all over it. It all sounds like a less serious version of the Stranda Shorty 164W, which is my regular pow driver. Gonna try to get my hands on the Taka and do a comparison video. I like how it's only 7mm taper, and I love that classic old school 'egg nose' :-) Beautiful shape!
Many thanks! Yeah I rode the 169 and 164 and the review is coming. I plan to compare them all in a seperate review as well but I'm so damn behind. If you are ever coming to ride Bachelor hit me up and we'll test together.
Many thanks. Both carve super well and it depends on how you like to carve. If you want a more surfy carve riding more near the tail go Wolle. If you want more centered but still a little set back go Taka.
Thanks for the reviews! Deciding between the Nakai, Nakai EP, and Wolle Nyvelt Fish. Which would you choose for an all conditions Mt. Bachelor daily driver for a rider focused on storm / pow / trees / side hit riding but shred groomers if need be?
It's really hard to say without knowing much about you. All three have their strengths and weaknesses. The EP (review coming) is pretty long but turns well enough in the trees and rides groomers well. It's not ideal for side hits. The Fish is more if you like a shorter more set back ride. The Taka is more balanced/centered and better for air but not as floaty as the 2 above. If you want to get into it more and do this right, hit me here to give me the info I need to help you much better. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
Hey @goodridesnow looking at this Taka vs the Wollie. I'm looking for a dedicated pow board for tree riding and excellent float. I already have a Ride Superpig and Endeavor Archetype in the quiver. Want something more nimble and ultimate float.
I'd go with the Wolle Fish based on what you have in your quiver now and you want this for pow. Just make sure it fits your specs and especially your boots can turn it quickly in the trees.
I haven't tried em all but I could have a pretty good season with the Taka and Wolle Fish but would love to try the new Sick Stick with ABS as that would be an excellent daily driver to compliment the Wolle Fish.
I bought the board from last year with a 40% discount because I was told it was a good board for me. I’m an average rider who can handle blue and some red slopes, and while I’m not particularly interested in the park, I do enjoy carving and buttering. Is this the right board for me?
Really hard to say knowing so little about you but from what I know it sounds ok except you got the older model with Cork/Bamboo sidewalls which isn't as reliable as the new one and not as damp so it depends on your specs, conditions you ride etc.
@@thegoodridesnowchattered to much the result of using bamboo and cork sidewalls? Is that what you mean or the rest of the board construction that caused the symptom of chattering?

@@thegoodridesnow great idea! 😉🙌
Great review as always! Which is the best back foot carver between this and the Wolle Fish? Thanks

Have you also been on the new Sickstick?
No but it looks like they added recycled ABS as well.

@@thegoodridesnowsweet! Thanks for your input. I’ve got size 11 boots and 190lbs naked so going to order the 162.
Good call
What’s your favorite board out of the HPS line?

What did u think of last years model.
Not into the cork/bamboo sidewalls it had. Chattered too much and not as reliable.
@@thegoodridesnowchattered to much the result of using bamboo and cork sidewalls? Is that what you mean or the rest of the board construction that caused the symptom of chattering?
Bamboo and Cork seemed to be the culprit because it rides with much less chatter now that they added recycled ABS for the 2025 models
@@thegoodridesnow thanks for the replies
No prob.
