Interesting that you have the foam as well. Precision was very surprised to hear we had foam, and we all assumed it was after market added by our previous owner. Obviously not, if you have as well! That's pretty impressive that these 47s had that added feature and size from the factory! And thanks for making time for us that day of busy work 😄
Yeah, it’s interesting to see that the foam has fallen out of fashion. I guess it adds a bit of weight to the sail but it helps give it shape so we quite like it. And 130% Genoa is just perfect! 🤩
Brioni is a baller with a sewing machine! I also appreciate her ingenuity by standing inside a hatch (standing on the bed below?) to be in a better position to sew the sail! Sailors really are ingenious people!
Hi guys, thank you once again for the fantastic video I’m glad you fixed up the sail keep up the good work lots of love and appreciation to you both Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia. I’m on the big island
Hey Cliff! Cheers for the encouragement. We are editing right up to the wire right now so squeezing these episodes out between sailing and repairing has been pretty hard going. It’s good to know you and others are enjoying them. 😊 Hope you are having a very merry Christmas. 🎄
From Sailmaker to Chef! I was amazed when you pulled out the homemade Italian food after mending the sail, but when I realized that you had prepped food for the whole trip too, I was really shocked! I hope maybe Daryl at Precision Sails will see how bad you guys need new Sails and give you a good deal, since it will be a good deal for him too….🍀
Yes meal prep before passaging is one of the best tips we’ve learned, especially upwind. New sails would be such a huge impact for Indi and our future passaging. If you know Daryl….feel free to put in a good word! We would love to see what Indioko can do with some quality canvas.
Looks like your sails been trying to catch up with the sailing Kiwis..😂 Hoping they are ok as a big Cyclones blown up in the Madagascar channel and caused a lot of destruction up the Whole region including the poorest French islands.. 😬🤞🏼 well done..on the sail fix.
Merry Christmas and happy new year As soon as this episode started and you mentioned the rip in the sail, you asked if this is it And I said No Bloody Way ! That’s called boat life and you 2 are Living It ! I am sure that there’s no way for you but onwards! Tally/Ho or something like that ! I’ll click off the pause button now and see what you’re up to next 🇨🇦Cdn .Dave🇨🇦
It’s turning out to be a pretty tough quest, this one. Between autopilots playing up and sails ripping, next week we have even more fun on our beat south.
There are three stages in sea sickness, one when you think you are going to die, two when you know you are going to die and three, when you are dying! There are also three invaluable tips, one keep busy, two keep the horizon sight and three keep your stomach full - it won't stop you being sick but you need something in your stomach to throw up!!
I feel like we made it to stay 2 but definitely keeping your stomach full is the key for us. When there is a lot going on during a passage, it’s way too easy to forget to eat for a day or two so we are doing our best to prepare a snack bag to enjoy while on watch. Just so funny that we both rarely feel sea sick and yet both got hit with it on this passage.
Thank You for this week's video. I would like to wish ya'll a Very Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 and Happy New Year 🎉. Until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Aloha and Cheers 🍻

Ooo what’s the new gig? We will have a good think as I’m certain we can think of someone who would make good use of shade fabric. We would totally take it if it wasn’t going to be a challenge to ship.
Thank you! I think we are still working thru the screen you were so kind to send us before. It’s amazing stuff. Some more window shades coming soon to Indioko. Just need the time to take on the project properly.
A real sailor would have hoisted themself up the forestay and stiched it by hand while smoking a pipe and underway in a thunderstorm. Well at least according to Hollywood.😂

She is a wizard on that thing. So pleased to have a sewing machine on board…and someone who actually knows how to drive it!
You know you have arrived when the dolphins 🐬 come to say hello.
Always the best welcome party!
Great job on the repair
Thank you! Cheers!
You need new sails or those old ones reconditioned.
Tell me about it! We would kill for some new sails!

Think this sail has seen far better days! Still, Bri and her sewing machine can do wonders to keep us going.

Merry Christmas to you too! Hope you’re having a great festive season up there.

Short bread, will be having some at Christmas 👍🏼
Good to know you know how to celebrate 🥳
They have what’s called a “long arm” sewing machine. It looks like a regular sewing machine , but super wide
Hmmm. We’re gonna need a bigger boat 😂
Puckering indeed! Glad everything worked out.
This whole gambier gamble is turning out to be a lot harder than we expected it to br
You’re very prepared. 👍
In the same way flying is the art of falling while missing the ground, I wonder if cruising is the art of travelling without sinking 😂

Having been brought up on Shortbread I don't think the burnt bottom would be an issue.. more than likely quite nice :)
Oh why do that to yourself! 😂 nothing nicer than some buttery shortbread.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it

Right back at ya! 😉

Bri did the sawing, Iain should be doing the cooking? Bri can steer and not get sick?
I have a strong feeling that we would both be much sicker if we let iain cook! 😂

No problem just switched companies if anyone in the sailing community you would like it have them reach out

But only during a 50knot storm with rain lashing down and a Spanish galleon in pursuit that’s already firing canons towards them right?
