Hey Andrew, I studied your area extensively in college for my Geology degree. The cool red/green alternating rock layers Sam found are most likely from the Oneonta or Walton formations. They are upper Devonian in age, roughly 360-380 million years old. At that time the Catskills region was a huge river delta. The deposits carried by the large network of rivers and streams got buried deeper and deeper and eventually became the Sandstones, Shales, and Conglomerates you find around your property. The red rocks are red because the water was shallow when those sediments were deposited, allowing exposure to air which oxidated the iron-bearing minerals and turned them red. The green layers were deposited when the water level was higher and no exposure to the air was possible, producing an iron-reducing environment causing the green coloration.
The nice thing about Andrew's TH-cam films is that, despite his great success, he doesn't show his fans any annoying ads. Thank you so much Andrew - that's why I don't want to watch TV anymore. Today with these machines he is not twice as fast and efficient as the average, he is now three times as fast thanks to the team... I wish everyone a happy and peaceful holiday season.
Andrew, I have been enjoying your videos for years, your videos (and audio) are excellent. I am age 75, and also from up your way, Saratoga Springs, now living in GA retired 10 years. Your videos (and audio) are excellent, and so diversified!!! Now with your partner Sam, your videos are even better. She compliments you, and goes right to work, even down in the mud, climbing on & under your huge construction equipment, handling the tools like a pro that she is. I grew up doing projects like your early days; as a teenager fixing bicycles, old tube-type TVs, lawnmowers, then working on cars, trucks & motorcycles. Went on to college but started learning and fixing houses on the side. I kept remodeling & flipping houses for the next ~50 years, doing my first house in 1970. In 1975, I designed & built a contemporary post & beam home from scratch in Massachusetts. Not on the scale of your castle which I think is awesome. Keep your projects & videos coming, I look forward to each new video 👍. And I can’t wait to see what you are going to build on your mountain top.
@@kobelcofan I saw it in the comments of one video, they said Sam mentioned about it on her channel. Andrew just out of previous machine problems I’ve dealt with, the excavator sounds like it’s struggling to drive and move, sounds boggy. I had a similar issue on a cat. Which makes every function bog the engine and if you hold long enough will stall engine even when running perfectly. Just thought I could help.

Can't wait to see the upcoming blasting video & and 1st one at your house was awesome! Btw @Andrew Camarata, are you still planning to build a storage place where you removed the rocks at your house ? I think that the only thing you still need a part time or full time editor, which I believe would dramatically boost the amount of videos, moreover more content for us all to watch & enjoy 😁🤔 Keep up the good work man! 👋
I've worked with these kind of machines and sometimes stones get stuck. To fix that we had a long big and powerful iron tip for the excavator. We changed to that one when stones got stuck, just hit the stones with the long iron tip and then change back to the bucket and just continue working. It's not harder then that! Do as I say, buy a big solid iron rod and make it so the excavator can use it. Do it!

Absolutely the best channel on the Tube.. ..
Be honest now, who just read the words BLAST and instantly clicked on it with excitement ...I hold my hands up
It should read prepping area for blasting in the next vid.
I clicked bcuz the video is made by Andrew camarata
The video where those guys blasted that flat piece of ground (rock) and turned it into a hill was effing amazing.
I hope this blast is a good one too.
I've been watching this channel for two years it doesn't matter
Literally no one I just saw that he upload and I was like hell yeah
Can’t wait for the blast video! I loved the one from the container castle property!
Great stuff as usual!! Have a great holiday!!!

When a new video from Camarata comes up it's like little Christmas, and first you feel...ahhh soo long, but when you start watching you always wish they were even longer. Now you have put us all i the stretchbenk here and we waiting for the big blast. Greetings from Sweden!
This is what I needed on this cold Saturday
Andrew doing the stuff we as kids dreamed about, what we would do if we got older! blasting up stuff, building huge fires and castles. Playing with massive toy's while being in good company :D
Thanks for another great video, can't wait for the booms on the next one. You have a beautiful place up there
I've worked with these kind of machines and sometimes stones get stuck.
Do it!
@@anttihuttula6547 Yes but obviously he doesn't have that so how does your ide help?
@@anttihuttula6547 You are so wrong! Andrew and I talked about a video on the tree machine, you know the one that drag the trees with a winch.
What happend? 6 month later we saw a video exactly like the one we talked about.
Of course he reads some of these comments. He get good ideas from that!
You seems to think he is some great god, standing above everybody like us.
Let me tell you, Andrew is human!
Have you got that?
@@anttihuttula6547 Yes, you are right.
That's why most of them are here the first 15 min ( it gets much longer in reality)
Drone footage at the end was very helpful to understand what you're doing.
Andrew did a great job surfing the rock crusher. The mini works better with the track on. We do love to see the adventures on "AndCamSam" mountain. Looks like barter - wood for gravel. Hope we get to see the blast happen.
