That checkpost at the start was Ghumri checkpost. Nothing is more beautiful than drass in West ladakh. Nothing comes close to it but sadly you skipped. Pak can see you easily on the NH1 even our posts and their Observation posts are clearly visible from naked eyes but a civilian don't know about them where they are and how to spot them. That army camp was 8 mtn division. Panikhera has the best view between kargil and padum. I've spent 2 days in Rangdum it's a beautiful small village and the rangdum monastery is very beautiful.
