I have a deeper appreciation for actors having the skill to embody all sort of serious and emotive feelings in sets that honestly look quite ridicilous when they're not edited to represent a different world. Even watching this I couldn't stop laughing at how silly everyone looked being pulled by wires, having to fake shoot a gun, and having those people walking around in neon green suits. I would crack up constantly, but applause to everyone involved who can make something so appealing out of not so appealing behind the scenes. The scenes on the boat were so amazing to watch in the show, but seeing it filmed like this where the scenery is just a giant car park is so bizzare 😂
at 0:38 and 1:28 (and at a later date with the same scene) after "CUT" the (probably operator) is shouting "miki are you okay?"- Miki: "ofc"-Operator: "Andris?" - Andris: "ja" - Operator: "Bence?" - Bence: "yes" (in hungarian) at 0:48 between "lets do it guys" and "everyone set" he says: "ably/handly/capably" (the translation is kinda weird) at about 6:50 a guy is talking to an another and then saying something to "Atti" in Hungarian and I was like lets look at the crew because like there are too many hungarian sentences for just maybe a few people but no, the crew has a lot of hungarians, so makes sense bc like it was filmed there and I'm just stupid thought I would translate it ignore this

Spin off spin off spin off spin off just immagine what they would be able to do with 8 EPISODES OF JUST CROWS. I think it would allo be easier to shoote and pay since there are much less VGX
0:19 it baffles me that this location wasn't split between a day and a night shoot. The final product for that sequence and on the volkvolny entering the fold, ended up looking like trash. In the pilot they establish an in universe excuse to use lighting in the fold, a grisha explains that the soft light they have doesn't attract vulcra. This allowed them to establish a light source in the scene. And because they could do that, they could do any form of practical lighting they needed to, to make sure the characters were properly lit. They also did this in the finale for season 1. They literally did a night shot on the volkvolny where the light source is presumably the moon and it looks great. But then once again, for the fold they do the effects in post?? I don't get it. What was used for season 1should've been the technique used on the volkvolny for season 2.
I love watching action movies but never really care about the effort of making it. Now seeing this Behind the Scenes of Shadow and Bone makes me appreciate all of the staffs working in the movie-making process, from the stunts to the CGI directors to the costum designers 🫶 Kudos to all of them 👏 Thank you for your hardwork ❤ Now I'll go streaming S&B both season 1 & 2 to appreciate them more and waiting for the 3rd season 🥰
