I think as she's matured she's become more comfortable with forming & sharing her own opinions. And country has often been seen as a more white, conservative genre. (Ask Beyonce & Lil Nas X....) I suspect maturity has coincided with expanding into other musical genres as well as addressing more than boyfriend heartbreak.
@@kathydurow6814no, she was bullied into it by her fans and the insane left. Just wait until she marries Travis Kelce, has a hetero normative nuclear family.... heads are going to explode. *gets popcorn*
To your opinion...my grandma always said that "anyone who is worrying about what is going on in someone else's bedroom is a pervert." 😂🤷♀️ It was her way of saying mind your business. 😂😂
My dad always said that too. Whatever someone does in the privacy of their own home is their business. Whatever someone does to their body is their business. Words to live by.
I’m gonna start calling myself well-rounded instead of fat. 😂 She definitely was claimed by more conservative people until she started speaking out about politics. She just wants people to be safe and happy. My son is gay and I was hoping this video would guide him to be a Swiftie but it didn’t work! 😂
You need to see her doc miss Americana, she's explain and shows how she's was trained to not speak about politics and about serious stuff. Also you can see how she treats the people who works with her (drivers, cleaning, security...) as a black woman this makes likes her even more and beyond her music
I mean, I think trained is pretty mild. Her previous label refused to put any songs with “politics” on her albums - she “got away with” Welcome to New York because NYC paid for it as an ad campaign song - and her father constantly told her that if she told anyone her politics in any way, ever, she would end up worse than The (Dixie) Chicks because she wasn’t as famous as they were when they spoke out, and look what happened to THEM and did she want to do that to her family and all the people she employed? How would she feel about having to fire everyone, etc. I know a lot of Swifties love her father, and maybe he did generally believe those things, but…. 😒😒😒
Yeeeesss! Watch miss Americana!!! Me and my husband say “even if someone doesn’t like her music, you can’t deny that she isnt a good person after watching that”
That beautiful man dancing is Dexter Mayfield, and back 2018 he gave Fenty Beauty a viral sensation when he covered himself in Diamond Bomb and danced like he was a sparkling vampire in the Las Vegas desert. The video is still so damned iconic; it is WORTH watching!
Taylor has such a great way of burying social commentary into her lyrics and who she surrounds herself with, but she does it with these pop music backgrounds and so a lot of people just dismiss it as another pop song. She’s not what people expect and it’s awesome!
100% agree with you on the who cares front. Change the channel if you don't like what you're watching. No need to hurt people or be ugly. How does that make the world better?
SO MANY cameos from many celebrities in this video (rewatch it). Taylor cares for everyone and believes everyone should be treated as an equal. Glad you loved it!!
I appreciate so much how much you appreciate Taylor for speaking out. Everyone has gotten mad at her in the past for not speaking out and then when she finally does she's told it's performative. our girl cant win 🤕
The guy she’s walking with in the scene where she has blue hair (the parade scene), that’s Todrick Hall. He made a video on TH-cam of himself singing Taylor Swift songs. That was in 2015 and then she invited him backstage to meet at her 1989 concert; they met and the two have been friends for years. She made him Executive Producer on this music video and he was one of the backup dancers in Look What You Made Me Do. I think he’s a choreographer now.
Yep. They literally have a handbook on trying to beat her. Which means the media is just going to start treating her worse and worse… just in time for Reputation (TV). It’s …kinda ironic, eh?
He did this one recently. I can’t find the Taylor Swift playlist, but if you go to “Search” (beside the playlist icon), you can search Taylor’s name and you can find it that way.
Taylor and Katy had Bad Blood. Taylor was Salty and they had Beef for awhile bc of some dancers switching sides, but they both calmed down and made up :) Katy even went to a show of hers recently! We love growth.
Love your open heart. That is what our world needs. Also, you talked over some great lyrics... like 'hate never made anyone less gay', for example. She is an amazing writer, so especially with her, you want to back it up if you start chatting over the song or save the chatting for the chorus. You're missing out. LOL
You were talking over one of the greatest lines "cause shade never made anyone less gay". Such a great line! Look up the cameos and easter eggs in this video.❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
I grew up with my granddad's best friend being a "cinfirmed bachelor" & some cousins who had roommates. At that time, they were included but unless in safe spaces could not let on that things might be more physical. My granddad as doctor, worked hard to have them treated as next of kin in health matters. But the law saw things differently. Unfortunately, the 80s were a very hard time for my uncle and his friends. I ended up inheriting a gay bar at 18/19. I am a cis straight woman but tried to keep it open as long as possible as a safe space. That community supported me with love & I hope I have given back. Coming from a home of love & acceptance, I wasnt prepared for the horror storiesof how so many people were treated by family, friends, and the law. It made me glad to see you react with both such caring and nonchalance. I hope by my great grandkids da(,maybe sooner but...) that peopke do not understand why this seemed like a controversial video or cost her a lot of cheese &cracker followers.
I love that you touched on that topic. We have to leave people alone to live their lives. Yes, that includes your own kids. Love them, regardless if you don’t understand their sexual preferences, that part of the maturing individual you birthed isn’t your business to try to control or dictate. Just mind your business and love your kids UNCONDITIONALLY regardless of anything else. AND respect your neighbors the same way too. That shouldn’t be too much to ask. The first part of the song though is a message to Trump and MAGA about tweeting nasty shit at and about her. She’s a staunch feminist & a staunch supporter of equal rights for EVERYONE 👏👏👏💪💙🇺🇸
she doesn't have any actual tattoos; that one was done by the makeup artists? anyway, it is an Easter Egg for the video for ME! (watch that and see the snake transform) and that the dark Reputation album aesthetics (and her snake themes) was shifting into pastel butterflies for the Lover album).
Great reaction video! I especially loved what you said about living in the moment. ❤ I have a limited life span and abilities due to a complex medical situation. I will shake what I can while I can. I'm an Elder Swiftie and living my best life while I'm still alive. We need to all stay focused on being kind. Love is ❤️ and I adore how Taylor is an Ally.
Love when people learn that what they thought Taylor was as an artist and person is in fact, the opposite of her She’s a kind, loving, caring person who thinks everyone deserves love and just wants to be loved back She’s so versatile in her music She’s so above and beyond in kindness ❤
I love that this video is jam packed with celebs....Ryan Rynolds painting, Adam Lambert tattooing Ellen, Katy Perry and Taylor making up over a hamburger and fries etc. etc. Fun reaction..thanks
The “husky” gentleman in the video is actually one of Taylor’s dancers and is on the Era’s tour. Coincidentally (or not) his brother (or cousin I forget which) plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Another connection to Travis. If you watch the Eras movie you will see her dancers are all shapes & sizes, talent is the common denominator.
I know it would be a long video but I would love to see you react to her documentary, Miss Americana so you can see some her background. Love your reactions!
I appreciate your thoughts expressed during this. Body positivity, inclusion--live your best life. Yes! OK, I gotta go watch the original and zoom in. :D Thanks!
You should do a reaction to "Everything You Missed In Taylor Swift's 'You Need To Calm Down' Video" (link below). The details this woman puts into her videos is crazy. It also tells you who everybody in this video is. I'm 67 and didn't know her music at all. But when I saw Fox News going after her I really wondered why and started looking into her. I love watching reaction videos but usually watch people reacting to the music I grew up with from the 60's through the 80's. So the line that maybe had you a bit puzzled is “Why are you mad? When you could be GLAAD? (You could be GLAAD)” …as in The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. From the LOC, “Before March 2013, the name 'GLAAD' had been an acronym for 'Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation', but became the primary name due to its inclusiveness of bisexual and transgender issues. Its stated mission, in part, is to '[amplify] the voice of the LGBT community by empowering real people to share their stories, holding the media accountable for the words and images they present, and helping grassroots organizations communicate effectively.'"
If you look at her past, alot of her managers didn't let her speak her mind. Political. Then after after awhile, she said I will be me and say what I believe in.
That was Katy Perry. I read the idea behind it was they were beefing and Taylor was salty about it. Hence the burger and fries lol! I really like the lyric “shade never made anybody less gay” because it’s so spot on.
Haha, adding the word thoroughly was so funny. Brilliant review by the way. Sexuality doesn’t matter, neither does skin color in my view. Life is short, dance your ass off!
I mostly agree with your take on the subject. I would only add that there’s a second set of guys who are scared by that scenario because they’re afraid a gay man might treat them the same way they themselves treat women. And they don’t even see the irony in that. It’s wild.
😊 *Taylor judges nobody, except Trump* 😊 Enjoyed your commentary, and you are absolutely correct, any man or woman, who is confident in their own sexuality, would not have an issue with someone else's 💙💙💙
