Im crying hard! My High School Sweetheart sang this song to me. I too am 68. He married me September 2nd 1973 on his 21 day leave from the Navy in Vietnam aboard the AIRCRAFT CARRIER the U.S.S. ORISKANY CVA-34; BEFORE I started my 12 grade mid September 1973. Id just turned 18 in August 1973. Sadly; my other 1/2 of my heart is now in Heaven. He sadly passed away on our 39th WEDDING Anniversary September 2nd 2012 (1973); to stage 4 Colon Cancer that had already spread to his lungs 5 places and his pancreas & a spot on his brain; during a "ROUTINE" "Colonoscopy" at age 56. They gave him 30 months to live. Our only child; our daughter was 6 months pregnant with our 2nd grandchild (a girl); & wed been HAPPILY ...LOVINGLY helping raising our Grandson Birth to age 6 M-F 6:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. while they both worked HARD days & both attended night school college ... he was such a BRAVE🤜🏼💥🤛🏽; 💪🏻 STRONG💪🏻; WARRIOR HUSHAND WHO FOUGHT 🤺🤺VALIENTLY🤺🤺TO LIVE THOSE 21 1/2 MONTHS. LIFE ISNT THE SAME WITHOUT HIM. I CANT WAIT TO GO HOME & JOIN HIM IN THE 🙏🏼😭💔💔 INFINITE INFINITY ♾️{•••}...this song is embedded in my heart with a few others that were on that 8- track various hits K-Tel tape they had back in the 1970's. We'd of celebrated our Golden 50th Anniversary September 2nd; 2023 had he lived. Life is so Beautiful...then SO CRUEL & TRAGIC TOO.

I close my eyes and go back to the Melody tavern in Skyway Washington with Hank and Rachel and the whole gang that used to hang there. This song played a lot there. Most all of those guys and gals are all gone now. Great memories.
