Another amazing episode. Funny and entertaining what else can you ask for.
What struck me about this chat was the whole ex thing.
Worryingly, it really sounds like young people today cannot let go of the past. All three of the girls gave the impression that the past is ruling & largely dictating the present, and it may explain why current relationships are poor or non-existent.
That being said, the chat reminded me of a very old saying around love that goes something like this. You only ever have a first true love. Every love there after is a different kind of love, but! If you cannot let go of the feelings of that first, young, naïve, sweet kind of love, then it seriously impacts every relationship there after.
As an older person, who has been single for several years, what strikes me today is that the past is dictating a huge number of people lives (all ages) because many today cannot remove their masks, lower their defenses and actually meet and be real with someone they find they are attracted to, largely because the past is dictating the present. And as for the saying regarding girls saying looks don't matter, as sweet as that sounds, in reality its not true. You have to have some physical attraction, otherwise you never allow yourself to scratch below the surface. Take this as verbatim, because as a guy who was largely average in younger days, girls are as superficial as boys. It may actually be even more so today because of the filtered online presentation of the self.
Which reminds me of a book you should read. 'The Presentation of the Self in Everyday Life' - Erving Goffman.

I think the whole idea of body image has indeed become something that can be used as a weapon to hurt people in this day and age unfortunately. I like that the 3 of you talked about your experiences and were vulnerable about what happened. It does make me uncomfortable that the direction of how bodies have been objectified, but I had to hear this and has made me feel a bit better about the way I look. Great show as always, keep it up!

Not really sure where to submit questions but I'll try my luck here. last week we've talked about how to break up with friends but how do you MAKE friends? I know this question sounds so weird but I'm making plans to move to Europe in the new year. I won't know anyone besides family. What are the best ways to go about making friends in a way that doesn't make you seem like you're an opportunist? Nowadays being friendly and kind can be looked at funny. Unfortunately, people can take it as you want something from them or just plain weird. Everyone seems to be on their guard- understandable but very hard to build connections.
