The reformation continues still today and thankfully we have better access to biblical truth with great expositors of scripture like Dr. Andy Woods!

As a boy, I was given a prayer book, with the proper devotional material to read on a daily basis. I still have it, that was 62 years ago. I was never given a Bible. It’s the priest job to read it to the Catholic people.

I was raised Catholic & had the same attitude as you. Then, I actually read the Bible. So glad I did. You will never truly understand the sacrifice Jesus made for you until you do.

My mother remarried when I was 11 , we started attending Protestant churches, I accepted Jesus at 13, ever since the Bible has been my primary Book.

Wow, only a handful of comments here right now, but there are some really confused people. Just sayin'.

Boy, you’re so right. Some of these folks in the comments aren’t reading the text literally when it’s to be understood as literal.

I was reared in the Greek Catholic Church. They also have purgatory. It’s the place where believers become “holy” before entering Heaven. My uncles paid 150.00 in 1967 to get my grandmother out of purgatory. A bunch of nonsense, but a great way to make a lot of money.

His (Calvin’s) Gnosticism is so obvious.

Regarding infant baptism….it’s recorded that whole households were baptized by the disciples. Can we assume there were infants in the household?

      Its never right to assume

Babies can not believe, which is the one and only condition for salvation. Only those who believe and are saved are baptised in the Bible. Be careful. “Add thou not unto his words, Lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” (Proverbs 30:6)

I was baptized as an infant and asking questions about points Dr Woods made during a teaching is not adding to His word and I am not a liar. You be careful. “Do not judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves.”

@@catherinenaugle3484 Not criticizing at all, that is a Scripture that has rung out to me many times, coming from a RC background. So many traditions taught as though they were Scriptures, all lies. As for me, I want to be careful not to be preaching something that God is not. I too, apparently, was baptised as an infant, at least there are old pictures of a baby in a fount that was apparently me. But I do not remember. Can't see that doing anything for me, other than maybe washing off some dirt. But as we know, only the blood of Jesus can wash away our sin. Were you Catholic also?

I was baptized as an infant when at the time I was catholic. When I became a born again christian and made aware of the foolishness of infant baptism. Infant dedication is just fine. Am now no longer catholic, thank God for that deliverance.
