The whole forehead kiss, cheek kiss and their kiss scene on the hill was actually improvised. The kiss scene wasn’t in the script in the first place but P’aof shouted in his walkie talkie telling them to kiss. So yeah they kiss 💋 Earth said during the forehead kiss he did it because he was so into his character, all the crew was shocked because of it so they just stared at them. Earth got a bit shy because of this lol. And mix he was so into the character during the airport scene. The way he hugged Phupa and the way their cheek touches. Shows how much they both don’t want to let go. Idk but I can seriously feel the tension during that scene. Mix even got shy during the uncut part when earth gave him a kiss on the cheek. if u watch the reaction and recap by soon vijarn channel, P’ Aof said that Mix came up to him after the filming ended and said that he wants Chief Phupa in his life. As in like Mix/Tian did fell in love with the character Phupa. I guess everyone wants a Phupa in their life. I mean who doesn’t Aite?? And Earth he really improve a lot, and the chemistry between him and and mix in this series is good. They don’t need any kiss scene tbh and I won’t be surprised if they didn’t kiss at all because I could already feel the love that PhupaTian have for one another. But yeah P aof told them to kiss and EarthMix did. It was simple yet breathtaking. I kinda wish this series has more recognition and views. Like why are people sleeping on them but anyway I think this is by far the best gmmtv bl series. I hope to see more of EarthMix in the future project regardless if it’s individual project or both of them together. It safe to say that IM DEVASTATED and I FEEL SO ATTACHED TO THIS SERIES THAT IF I COULD MARRY THIS SERIES I WOULD. No wait that’s weird but yeah I hope everyone get what I mean. I feel you.. and to be honest I always watch this entire series every day. Yes it’s EVERYDAY and I don’t know how many times when I have free time or even traveling coz I am also so attached with this series. ITSAY was on my top lost before ATOTS came. And now obviously ATOTS is incomparable and even a 1000 years didn’t beat me missing this.. Mix really hit my heart so badly. I was so in love with him since trailer year ago and didn’t expect to exceed my expectations and it was his first acting job. My gosh all I can say is AWESOME.. A MASTERPIECE INDEED

The reason why I watch the first trailer was because of Earth. Cause he’s has been in the industry for a long time. And I’m such a huge fan of Earth And suddenly I fell for Mix as well. I think he did well moreover his character isn’t simple. He had to portray diff emotions into his character and I truly admire him for that. Tbh I really hope Mix receive an award for his acting. Both earthmix, director, background actors/actresses and the crew who were involved in this series deserve all the love and recognition 💕
That forehead kiss in the airport was EVERYTHING!!!!!! When I saw it I was like FINALLY!!! And it really hit me so much because I felt the genuine of their feelings towards each other... And that ending!!! It was so satisfying!!! After weeks of crying and heartbreak towards this series, they really gave us what we really wanted. I will surely gonna miss 1000Stars....
This drama was just perfection, no flaws. The plot, the characters, the acting, the directing, the music scores and the chemistry are everything I could ask for and more. Mixx has been an amazing Tian and Earth a fantastic Phupha, I really couldn’t have hoped for more. I loved how the story came full circle, just like life and death. The growth of Tian was amazing and inspiring. I totally agree that their chemistry, their touches and glances were enough to portray their love and longing and that final kiss was like the cherry on top. I’m having bittersweet feelings about this drama ending, I want more but still I don’t know what more they could give because this was perfect!

The best from GMMTV, they really put their all and it paid off after this series explode here in Asia, every BL watchers know this BL and everyone are loving it even more after this last eps came out. This is one of the best and most beautiful BL ever along with ITSAY. I believe in P'Aof's supermacy. It really touch your soul 😭. This series will always be in my heart and i will treasure it forever.

This is the best BL for me, because the story is super unique, the cinematography, the location, and the hardship the cast and the entire team went through to complete this. This is absulutely a masterpiece.

I was sad in Part 1, extremely irritated in Parts 2 and 3 (mainly at Phupha), and making inhuman noises in Part 4 😂😂😂😂 And that extra special scene? It's a freaking blessing. ☺ P.S. I read somewhere that the forehead kiss is UNSCRIPTED. My heart. 😭

Also, the kiss on the cliff was unscripted as well, because it wasn't supposed to happen (in the script), but P'Aof (the director) asked them to kiss, and they were already in the mood and they did, one take 😭

This drama is really perfection. I absolutely agree with your final remarks Evelyn. And I have to admit that it won't be easy to forget an incredible character like Tian. Mix was truly phenomenal. EarthMix acting are amazing, the music and the lyrics are so touching. All so perfectly beautiful delivered. That airport scene is so beautiful and satisfying. I felt that warm hug, soft cheeks touch and forehead kiss. This series deserves LOT of awards. One thing I don't understand is why Tian comes late to Dr. Nam's wedding. I give this series 9/10. I dot off 1 point due to Phupha not telling the villagers Torfun's death and accused Tian of lying and letting Tian went through so much pain by himself. Me watching Evelyn cries:. He was very sad when Tian said goodbye to the kids and the others. The doc and the others were very pretty! When Tian was at the airport and Phupha went there too, it was as if Tian's father already knew. The most beautiful was when Tian went back and everyone was happy, now "Tian and Phupha can count the stars forever." 1000 stars forever 💕🥰⭐
When I saw the episode yesterday, my thoughts went "Evelyn's gonna cry in the first 10 mins". As we all did.. Gonna miss this show. Mix is such an amazing actor. And the OST!!!
Perhaps its recency bias, but I love how BL series are progressing. I believe people are realizing that these shows are not just juvenile stories targeting teenage fujoshis. I hate that some people just shun BL series (especially Thai series) because of some negative connotations that they have with BL series in general, be it cliché storylines, poor acting and production values. I feel like we are getting in the right direction, and ATOTS is a great representation of a BL series that defies those negative connotation. It is not perfect for sure, but there are substance to be shown, and people to be represented, instead of just playing with fluff all the time. And coming from both military & education background, I felt especially represented and attached with this series. And yes, although not unwelcomed, a series does not have to include a kiss scene. Heck seeing a guy shaving another guy's beard, if done well like in this series, give a lot more impact than many kiss scenes I've seen in other series. Yup. Definitely top 5, probably top 3 best BL series of all time for me. I Told Sunset About You, Gaya Sa Pelikula, and now A Tale of a Thousand Stars, these new series are not playing around. Edit. 1,000 Stars is such an impressive piece of work, the acting, the writing, the direction, the music insertion lifts this drama in all senses, I think anyone whether male or female who can understand the pain & longing between these characters cannot help but be bought to tears. I cried right along with you! It also means you are very empathic, which is a wonderful gift ❤️
1000 Stars seems to have a personal vendetta against my tear ducts. But it was a good cry. My heart was swelling with happiness, th airport and cliff scene were perfectly executed, you can't help but feel the immense love they have for each other. Re-living this with you Evelyn is a gift. Watching this drama alongside you Evelyn and you guys has been an amazing journey! It’s crazy how I would watch each episode and constantly think “can’t wait to see Evelyn’s reaction to this!” or “ Evelyn must be sobbing rn!”, and “can’t wait to watch it again with Evelyn”. It truly has been like watching a drama with a friend! 🧡 I wanna also thank Tian and Phupha for this amazing story, and everything they’ve put into it, we will always remember them as those two lovebirds living up north and loving each other madly. It was perfect. And god, Mix’s acting was mind blowing, he literally became one of my favourite actors in the entire industry, can’t wait to see him again in future projects. 💜
A couple of interesting changes they had from the novel to the series.. In the novel, Tian went back to Engineering school, graduated and they didn't have any contact after 2 years.. After 2 years, Doc Nam got married and invited Tian, it's where he informed him that he is going to america for his master's degree .Phupha didn't show up, was busy.. In the airport scene, just as Tian was leaving, Phupha called, wished him goodluck but didn't show up.. Tian got mad at Phupha over the phone and basically they talked and then said sorry to his mom and took a plane and back to the village instead and back to Phupha.. Tian got his master's degree in bangkok and Phupha applied for a promotion in BKK so he can be near Tian.. While the novel is good, how they made the series different is amazing... It's just not practical to drop your plans to be with someone.. and they showed it really good in the series.. Love is patient and unselfish and willing to wait no matter how long..
I love this series so much, that I repeated and repeated watching the episodes with different youtube reactors. But I must say that I love your reaction videos the most. I really enjoyed watching the episodes with you, listening to your singing, and also your comments about the stories. This series is definitely one of the best series for me in year 2021. Not only the lovely story between Tian and Phupha, this series also showed us the beauty of Northern Thailand, as well as the importance and meaning of life. I am gonna miss this series so much.
One of the many things I LOVE about this series was the fact that they don't add side couples, the love story was just about Phupha and Tian, and the things around them. . ALL the scenes (not all, but you get the point) were just they and how love grew with them. The fact is mix actually faint where he counting the stars because he need to convey his emotions towards torfun and also he need to convey his own emotions and get stressful because of that and weather is so cold that he can't tolerate he cried so hard after that the amount of effort he put in his character is just make the tian character more lively he is so versatile actor ahhh! He is so so good for his first time imagine him being get more experienced I just can't wait to watched him in another drama 💕💕💕
As of rn this series might be one of my top 3 BL of all time. Of course, there are a little room to improve but you can't deny that this series is so good and each episode is a banger. THE MUSIC I kid you not is so strong as well as THE CINEMATOGRAPHY is astonishing. Everyone included in this series are like puzzles which of every piece is needed to get a complete picture. I agree with you about their chemistry and it is so strong that we don't even need a kiss to feel it but of course a kiss is like a cherry on top💞 This series will remain unchanged no matter how many time I rewatch it. 💜

This was such a good show. Literally my favorite BL I’ve seen. Tops them all in my opinion. ITSAY might be slightly better in some artistic elements but it’s close. Nothing compares to this though. I agree with you on the acting and other elements. As an aside, I think that Tian probably did finish his degree in the two years he was gone. According to the story. In the real world though he wouldn’t be able to go the the States and finish in two years even though he’d already complete coursework in Thailand. Not only did he switch from engineering to education, but there is a lot of difficulty getting undergraduate credits to transfer internationally, so I think they just kind of let you assume he graduated. Had he stayed in Thailand he probably could have though. Thank you! Loved your reactions!
I know that for some people this drama is just okay, for me personally this is the best bl drama that I've ever watched and i won't stop talking about it any time soon. I am just so impressed with the whole producing and acting team, I am happy how P'Aof actually wrote the script, yeah i know that some moments could have been avoided, but he followed the core of the novel and changed the not so important scenes. ALSO I feel like their chemistry is just on a whole new level that even if there wasn't a kiss I would be still as happy as I am now. We’ve been awarded guys!!! After 9 episodes of building up the sexual energies!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 finally, we get a forehead kiss, the perfect one, and the first kiss at the cliff with earth’s version of the intro song, it’s like he’s singing out his love for tian!! And then the little after scene with them in bed 👏👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 especially the ending second when Yod is peeking, I was like yooooooooo, creepy😅😅😅😅 this episode is just roller coaster, I don’t even know now I think back that all the crying from the first half the episode is really necessary, but I like the opening scene when tian was packing and leaving notes at the house, wearing the same shirt as ep 1, I liked the director’s choice, it’s like back in full cycle, in ep 1, he wears that shirt to leave and start this journey and now he’s leaving to start a new life wearing that shirt😭😭 if the ending is this sweet, I don’t know why I cried so much in the first part. One thing I’m glad is that the parents won’t be like oh, no rich people can’t date less social class people or not our son a highly official’s son dating a guy that type of thing, and trying to stop them being together, thank god! At first, I really thought the mother would cause trouble, thank goodness, if that happens I won’t have any of it. Anyway, can’t believe it’s over😭😭😭😭, I really wish it would have more episodes, or season 2, 10 is really too short!! But I guess earth and mix might have future shows together definitely, their chemistry is gorgeous and excellent!!!! What am I going to watch now, ITSAY is not there until the end of May!!😭😭

I love the fact that they changed the thing from the book where Tian would not go abroad and will decide to stay when Phupha came to the airport. I love how they made Tian still go to U.S. making it feel more real in my opinion, rather than dropping everything off for Phupha, right then and there. Staying with Phupha after Tian gave it some time to think feels more real and smart. Also, just a theory, I'm not sure how long it takes for an education student to finish in U.S., but if it's actually the same as here, four years, I think the two years were possible, if Tian was able to have his subjects credited on his new school. If that isn't enough, then he might've taken a trimester, just to quickly finish it so he will be able to return on Phupha's side sooner, after knowing that Chief will be waiting for him. Anyways, for me, this is probably my favorite series of all time. I'm quite emotional when I watch dramas but crying usually happens on sad moments only, and I only tear up on other emotional scenes aside from that. But this series taught me to cry in happiness as well, not just tears, but weeping even in happy moments lol. I just treasure this series so much that I don't think I would be able to forget watching this in a long time.
It also takes four years if not more. The first two are usually under studies which is your general classes and then the last two are your graduate studies. He might have been able to transferred his accumulated units from his previous university and was able to do his upper studies. Which I don't see happening because many units do not transfer between schools. Many students have to retake courses that weren't able to transfer out of state because of this, I can imagine transferring different countries But that's that beauty of dramas and dramaland, they can create their own reality.
i'm so glad i finally found someone who loved the wind song as much as me. i've rewatched that episode quite a few times now, and i don't cry for any of the other scenes that i cried for during my first watch, but my tears start falling for the song EVERY DAMN TIME, including now. it's such a beautiful song and those lyrics HIT HARD, and it absolutely did not help that earth sang it. i really never understood why so many reactors didn't seem to have the same reaction as i did to it, so i'm glad you understand the pain
This is one of the best BL drama I've ever seen so far honestly. And just like exactly waht you've said earlier, I personally don't think that we need another season or episodes on this series, because it's already perfect the way it is. Sure, I'm going to miss Phupa & Tian relationship, and I think if we could get a season 2 they could probably give us more sweet moments about Phupa & Tian in a few episode. But anyway, I'm glad that I'm able to watch this series again with you Evelyn and I can't wait to watch other series in the future with you again.
This drama was 10/10 for me. I had a very night expectation from the trailer and I think they exceeded my expectations and did better. The story is so original not only to bl dramas but to love stories in general!! The acting was just amazing, I’m so happy I got to know Mix & Earth from this drama & I will be following all their work in the future they are amazing💖. This series was a MASTERPIECE, it’s the most emotionally invested I’ve been in anything in a long time and every time I think of it, it wows me all over again. I agree with you about this drama has set a standard. To another level💜 Most matured , romantic and non toxic relationship I ever watch in BL series. The cinematic views are outstanding😍 Totally love it💜💙 The scene I love is when Chief kiss Tian forehead at the airport (turns out its was improvised by Earth. Its non scripted act) Turns to be most beautiful scene. I cried a bit but can't help laughing too when I saw Tian's mom shock face😂 I'm amazed how they never really said 'I like you' or 'I love you' but we felt the feeling by their stares, gestures and so on. OK. Super long post, but hear me out… 1. I love that Torfun was a character which was never in the scene with them, yet always with them at the same time. She was the soul of the series. For a character with so little screentime, she dominated the series. That's the impact she had on everyone, from the villagers to Tian and everyone in between. I just wished they told us how impactful she was by letting us know what she did for the village. To know that she left a very deep impression on the village yet not know how she did it was kind of frustrating. 2. BackAof did say the school is actually a character unto itself. And it's true. The school is where everything happened. From the initial frustration to the final happiness, the school is where everything is. I love that an inanimate character has a strong impact on the series. 3. I loved the storytelling, although the series would've done better with 2 more episodes. They needed to show us what a total brat Tian was and how he struggled to get used to the village. Like really struggle. As it is in the series, Tian looks as though he got used to the village after a few days, which as a city boy like him, would be impossible. Also, use that time to let us really get to know Torfun so that we can empathize with Tian and Phupha more. Also, some parts were rushed and some parts were stretched out. I don't know if it's a director or editing or artistic thing, but some scenes felt off-pace. Having those extra 2 episodes would've fix those scenes. 3. I would've loved to see the kids see Tian back in school teaching them. That would be an amazing surprise. Overall I loved the cinematography, the soundtrack, the storyline, the cast, the overall production. It was well worth the wait.
Just finished watching this drama with you, Evelyn!! I totally agree that even without the kiss or the bonus scene, this drama is already perfectly beautiful!! All the actors and production staff really did well to show us a strong story, a heart-felt romance that deserves to be recognized for being such a masterpiece. I finally got time to finish your ATOTS reactions, and since you asked for our thoughts on the series I'll say my opinion. This drama is on another level, girl. I'm surprised I loved it so much since my favorites tend to be more comedic and lighthearted series (like 2gether and My engineer). The story is so original and beautiful! It was really well developed for the short amount of episodes and I also loved those transitions between the village and his old life. The OST is amazing; I'm a big fan of lighting and set design so I thought those were wonderful as well. Every actor did such an amazing job, especially Mix and If I didn't know this was his first role I would think he had other roles. Overall this is a 10/10 series, no doubt. Ps. Thank you so much for making these videos, I always look forward to watching them after I see the episodes. Especially since none of my friends really watch this type of series.

I loved this drama so much, i was so looking forward to it and while I admit I was a little afraid the day the first episode dropped - because i had very high expectations - I was definitely not disappointed. This was such an emotional journey.. Apparently, Mix has been Earth's friend for 7 years now and Earth recommended/suggested Mix audition for the part because he wanted to act with him. That's why they seem so close because in real life they are that close. And by close I mean just close not together close, close as best friends etc... I think this was Mix's first time in a series or first time as a main lead. I think it was first time in a series though.

It's hard to let go of their love story, they made us cry in this episode, but they both need to sacrifice specially TIAN he need to be strong and fullfill his dream to become a successful teacher. I like the ring that Phupa gave to Tian it's written the heart of PHUPA, even though we made us cry but in the end we feel the LOVE and happiness to both of them...💕💕💕Hope their's another season for A Tale of A Thousand Star to Phupa & Tian...❤❤❤🌎🐹❤❤❤ Thank you and God Bless😊 stay safe😊
Tian went into the village as a stranger, but his time there made such an impact in everyone's lives.. It was fitting that he stayed and build a life there.. That place made him grow.. I wish we could see future stories about their lives in the village.. I know we have the special story in the novel but so far, there is no plan to adapt that.. Hopefully it did get popular enough to warrant a special episode/season 2! EarthMix, P'Aof and the team behind this deserve it!

The only bad thing about this is that the series ended. LOLs! I just wished it should be longer. On the other hand, if they made this 12 or 13, it means we are going to cry for two or three weeks more because this show really digs the emotions out of its viewers. BTW. I love your reactions!!!

The cast and crew of this series is hands down, one of the best combination of people. So sad to know Nammon is leaving GMM but his last role there as Doc Nam is definitely something to remember. This is a long one and I will not be sorry now because Evelyn said so 😂 This is just me having my brain vomit 10/10. Everything about this drama is so perfect! I feel the same way that I love how the first and last episode had parallels where we could see how much Tian had grown and developed as a person. Not gonna lie, when I heard Earth's version of the OST, that broke me. I just thought it was so smart to create three versions of the same song, but with each singer having a different context or conveyed a different meaning (of course the og is for the opening purposes, Torfun's version is to show her love for Phupha, and Phupha's version for his love for Tian). It was just seamlessly introduced throughout the series as well that it heightened the experience as the audience to great heights. I'm so proud of Earth and Mix in here for their superb acting, with Earth having another lead role he deserves and Mix having this as his debut series. The plot itself already set this apart from other BL series, and because of the quality that they gave us for this series, I think this became a top contender for my fave BL series of all time ;u; That's saying a lot because there's He's Coming To Me as my fave BL series of all time skdnfkj
Every thing I wanted to say about this series, you said for me. This is my most favourite drama along with UWMA. I've laughed with you, cried with you and got angry shouting at the screen with you too. The wind song lyrics and the singing in this episode really made my heart ache, it was so beautiful. Ive been watching many of the BL Dramas last 1,5 years and this is probably the best so far with incredible acting skills, so beautiful scenery, music that was perfect to the different emotions, supporting actors and the romantic love story itself. Since I don't speak or read Thai I am glued to the clips with the English subs but the last episodes I didn't find so thanks Evelyn for letting me watch your last episodes with the subs together with your comments and reactions!
I fully agreed with your irritation at Phupha. I was so mad at him and I was mad at Tian's parents. It's all fine and dandy that they want what's best for Tian. I get it. Everyone wants their loved ones to have the best possible life. But nobody bothered to consider what Tian himself wanted. It's his life. He and he alone gets to decide what makes his life worth living. And Tian was truly happy living the simple life as a volunteer teacher with his hubby. He felt like he was worth something more than his family's power and wealth for the first time in his life. He had true value as a person. Tian didn't give a rat's arse about the fancy schools, the powerful connections his father had, the big fancy parties or the money he could throw around. He just wanted to feel worthy and be with the children and Phupha and the villagers. That was his desire in life and it's not a bad thing to wish for. But nobody asked what Tian wanted to do. Nobody respected his right to choose his own path. Maybe one day he would have regretted his choices, but they still would have been his choices. I was beyond happy when he came back and finally decided to do what made him happy. I'd like to think that he finally told his mother to stop controlling his life and I'd also like to think that if that oaf of a hubby of his would still have been difficult, Tian would have just scoffed and continued to live his best life as a simple volunteer teacher for the kids. It's a good thing that Phupha came to his senses because that airport scene really saved this final episode for me. I absolutely loathe the "let's be apart for years for no particular reason other than DRAMA that doesn't lead to anything" trope and I was mentally preparing myself to be sorely disappointed in this finale. It's still not great for me personally as I simply cannot stand that trope, but at least this amazing show wasn't completely ruined for me. And really, I could forgive almost anything just because of that after credits scene.
This drama was an amazing journey, I don't ever remember crying because I didn't want a show to end and it happened in this drama I actually love reliving these things with you, and let me tell you, I relate to you so much, one reason I love your reactions so much is because you react the same way I do, most of the time we share the same opinions and it's really entertaining to me
All through out the episode, approximately 90% i smiled at the same time got teary eyed. This is not our typical Y series, i say. I wonder how many times I will rewatch this again and again. As i will always miss this. 😁😥😢😭

The whole forehead kiss, cheek kiss and their kiss scene on the hill was actually improvised. The kiss scene wasn’t in the script in the first place but P’aof shouted in his walkie talkie telling them to kiss. So yeah they kiss 💋
Earth said during the forehead kiss he did it because he was so into his character, all the crew was shocked because of it so they just stared at them. Earth got a bit shy because of this lol.
And mix he was so into the character during the airport scene. The way he hugged Phupa and the way their cheek touches. Shows how much they both don’t want to let go. Idk but I can seriously feel the tension during that scene. Mix even got shy during the uncut part when earth gave him a kiss on the cheek.

As in like Mix/Tian did fell in love with the character Phupa. I guess everyone wants a Phupa in their life. I mean who doesn’t Aite??
And Earth he really improve a lot, and the chemistry between him and and mix in this series is good. They don’t need any kiss scene tbh and I won’t be surprised if they didn’t kiss at all because I could already feel the love that PhupaTian have for one another. But yeah P aof told them to kiss and EarthMix did. It was simple yet breathtaking. I kinda wish this series has more recognition and views. Like why are people sleeping on them but anyway I think this is by far the best gmmtv bl series. Yes it’s EVERYDAY and I don’t know how many times when I have free time or even traveling coz I am also so attached with this series. ITSAY was on my top lost before ATOTS came. And now obviously ATOTS is incomparable and even a 1000 years didn’t beat me missing this.. Mix really hit my heart so badly. The reason why I watch the first trailer was because of Earth. Cause he’s has been in the industry for a long time. And I’m such a huge fan of Earth And suddenly I fell for Mix as well. This drama was just perfection, no flaws. The plot, the characters, the acting, the directing, the music scores and the chemistry are everything I could ask for and more. Mixx has been an amazing Tian and Earth a fantastic Phupha, I really couldn’t have hoped for more. I loved how the story came full circle, just like life and death. The growth of Tian was amazing and inspiring. I totally agree that their chemistry, their touches and glances were enough to portray their love and longing and that final kiss was like the cherry on top. I’m having bittersweet feelings about this drama ending, I want more but still I don’t know what more they could give because this was perfect!

EarthMix acting are amazing, the music and the lyrics are so touching. All so perfectly beautiful delivered. That airport scene is so beautiful and satisfying. I felt that warm hug, soft cheeks touch and forehead kiss. This series deserves LOT of awards.
One thing I don't understand is why Tian comes late to Dr. Nam's wedding.
I give this series 9/10. I dot off 1 point due to Phupha not telling the villagers Torfun's death and accused Tian of lying and letting Tian went through so much pain by himself.

When I saw the episode yesterday, my thoughts went "Evelyn's gonna cry in the first 10 mins". As we all did.. Gonna miss this show. Mix is such an amazing actor. And the OST!!!
Perhaps its recency bias, but I love how BL series are progressing. I believe people are realizing that these shows are not just juvenile stories targeting teenage fujoshis. I hate that some people just shun BL series (especially Thai series) because of some negative connotations that they have with BL series in general, be it cliché storylines, poor acting and production values. I feel like we are getting in the right direction, and ATOTS is a great representation of a BL series that defies those negative connotation. It is not perfect for sure, but there are substance to be shown, and people to be represented, instead of just playing with fluff all the time.
And coming from both military & education background, I felt especially represented and attached with this series.
And yes, although not unwelcomed, a series does not have to include a kiss scene. Heck seeing a guy shaving another guy's beard, if done well like in this series, give a lot more impact than many kiss scenes I've seen in other series.
Yup. Definitely top 5, probably top 3 best BL series of all time for me. I Told Sunset About You, Gaya Sa Pelikula, and now A Tale of a Thousand Stars, these new series are not playing around.

1,000 Stars is such an impressive piece of work, the acting, the writing, the direction, the music insertion lifts this drama in all senses, I think anyone whether male or female who can understand the pain & longing between these characters cannot help but be bought to tears. I cried right along with you! It also means you are very empathic, which is a wonderful gift ❤️
1000 Stars seems to have a personal vendetta against my tear ducts. But it was a good cry. My heart was swelling with happiness, th airport and cliff scene were perfectly executed, you can't help but feel the immense love they have for each other.

A couple of interesting changes they had from the novel to the series.. In the novel, Tian went back to Engineering school, graduated and they didn't have any contact after 2 years.. After 2 years, Doc Nam got married and invited Tian, it's where he informed him that he is going to america for his master's degree .Phupha didn't show up, was busy.. In the airport scene, just as Tian was leaving, Phupha called, wished him goodluck but didn't show up.. Tian got mad at Phupha over the phone and basically they talked and then said sorry to his mom and took a plane and back to the village instead and back to Phupha.. Tian got his master's degree in bangkok and Phupha applied for a promotion in BKK so he can be near Tian.. While the novel is good, how they made the series different is amazing... It's just not practical to drop your plans to be with someone.. and they showed it really good in the series.. Love is patient and unselfish and willing to wait no matter how long..

I love this series so much, that I repeated and repeated watching the episodes with different youtube reactors. But I must say that I love your reaction videos the most. I really enjoyed watching the episodes with you, listening to your singing, and also your comments about the stories. This series is definitely one of the best series for me in year 2021. Not only the lovely story between Tian and Phupha, this series also showed us the beauty of Northern Thailand, as well as the importance and meaning of life. I am gonna miss this series so much.
One of the many things I LOVE about this series was the fact that they don't add side couples, the love story was just about Phupha and Tian, and the things around them.
. ALL the scenes (not all, but you get the point) were just they and how love grew with them.

The fact is mix actually faint where he counting the stars because he need to convey his emotions towards torfun and also he need to convey his own emotions and get stressful because of that and weather is so cold that he can't tolerate he cried so hard after that the amount of effort he put in his character is just make the tian character more lively he is so versatile actor ahhh! As of rn this series might be one of my top 3 BL of all time. Of course, there are a little room to improve but you can't deny that this series is so good and each episode is a banger. THE MUSIC I kid you not is so strong as well as THE CINEMATOGRAPHY is astonishing. Everyone included in this series are like puzzles which of every piece is needed to get a complete picture. This was such a good show. Literally my favorite BL I’ve seen. Tops them all in my opinion. ITSAY might be slightly better in some artistic elements but it’s close. Nothing compares to this though. I agree with you on the acting and other elements.
As an aside, I think that Tian probably did finish his degree in the two years he was gone. According to the story. In the real world though he wouldn’t be able to go the the States and finish in two years even though he’d already complete coursework in Thailand. Not only did he switch from engineering to education, but there is a lot of difficulty getting undergraduate credits to transfer internationally, so I think they just kind of let you assume he graduated. Had he stayed in Thailand he probably could have though.

I know that for some people this drama is just okay, for me personally this is the best bl drama that I've ever watched and i won't stop talking about it any time soon.
I am just so impressed with the whole producing and acting team, I am happy how P'Aof actually wrote the script, yeah i know that some moments could have been avoided, but he followed the core of the novel and changed the not so important scenes.
ALSO I feel like their chemistry is just on a whole new level that even if there wasn't a kiss I would be still as happy as I am now.
I really hope we will see them more as a duo ♥

We’ve been awarded guys!!! After 9 episodes of building up the sexual energies!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 finally, we get a forehead kiss, the perfect one, and the first kiss at the cliff with earth’s version of the intro song, it’s like he’s singing out his love for tian!! And then the little after scene with them in bed 👏👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 especially the ending second when Yod is peeking, I was like yooooooooo, creepy😅😅😅😅 this episode is just roller coaster, I don’t even know now I think back that all the crying from the first half the episode is really necessary, but I like the opening scene when tian was packing and leaving notes at the house, wearing the same shirt as ep 1, I liked the director’s choice, it’s like back in full cycle, in ep 1, he wears that shirt to leave and start this journey and now he’s leaving to start a new life wearing that shirt😭😭 if the ending is this sweet, I don’t know why I cried so much in the first part. One thing I’m glad is that the parents won’t be like oh, no rich people can’t date less social class people or not our son a highly official’s son dating a guy that type of thing, and trying to stop them being together, thank god! At first, I really thought the mother would cause trouble, thank goodness, if that happens I won’t have any of it. Anyway, can’t believe it’s over😭😭😭😭, I really wish it would have more episodes, or season 2, 10 is really too short!! But I guess earth and mix might have future shows together definitely, their chemistry is gorgeous and excellent!!!! What am I going to watch now, ITSAY is not there until the end of May!!😭😭

This is my first Thai drama that I watched. And I liked so much. Didn't expected it will be so phenomenonal:)
I love the fact that they changed the thing from the book where Tian would not go abroad and will decide to stay when Phupha came to the airport. I love how they made Tian still go to U.S. making it feel more real in my opinion, rather than dropping everything off for Phupha, right then and there. Staying with Phupha after Tian gave it some time to think feels more real and smart.
Also, just a theory, I'm not sure how long it takes for an education student to finish in U.S., but if it's actually the same as here, four years, I think the two years were possible, if Tian was able to have his subjects credited on his new school. If that isn't enough, then he might've taken a trimester, just to quickly finish it so he will be able to return on Phupha's side sooner, after knowing that Chief will be waiting for him.
Anyways, for me, this is probably my favorite series of all time. I'm quite emotional when I watch dramas but crying usually happens on sad moments only, and I only tear up on other emotional scenes aside from that. But this series taught me to cry in happiness as well, not just tears, but weeping even in happy moments lol. I just treasure this series so much that I don't think I would be able to forget watching this in a long time.

It also takes four years if not more. The first two are usually under studies which is your general classes and then the last two are your graduate studies. He might have been able to transferred his accumulated units from his previous university and was able to do his upper studies. Which I don't see happening because many units do not transfer between schools. Many students have to retake courses that weren't able to transfer out of state because of this, I can imagine transferring different countries But that's that beauty of dramas and dramaland, they can create their own reality.
i'm so glad i finally found someone who loved the wind song as much as me. i've rewatched that episode quite a few times now, and i don't cry for any of the other scenes that i cried for during my first watch, but my tears start falling for the song EVERY DAMN TIME, including now. it's such a beautiful song and those lyrics HIT HARD, and it absolutely did not help that earth sang it. i really never understood why so many reactors didn't seem to have the same reaction as i did to it, so i'm glad you understand the pain
This is one of the best BL drama I've ever seen so far honestly. And just like exactly waht you've said earlier, I personally don't think that we need another season or episodes on this series, because it's already perfect the way it is. Sure, I'm going to miss Phupa & Tian relationship, and I think if we could get a season 2 they could probably give us more sweet moments about Phupa & Tian in a few episode.
But anyway, I'm glad that I'm able to watch this series again with you Evelyn and I can't wait to watch other series in the future with you again.
This drama was 10/10 for me. I had a very night expectation from the trailer and I think they exceeded my expectations and did better. The story is so original not only to bl dramas but to love stories in general!! The acting was just amazing, I’m so happy I got to know Mix & Earth from this drama & I will be following all their work in the future they are amazing💖. I’m only just emotionally stable enough to watch your reaction after watching this episode for myself last week! This series was a MASTERPIECE, it’s the most emotionally invested I’ve been in anything in a long time and every time I think of it, it wows me all over again.

The scene I love is when Chief kiss Tian forehead at the airport (turns out its was improvised by Earth. Its non scripted act) Turns to be most beautiful scene. I cried a bit but can't help laughing too when I saw Tian's mom shock face😂
I'm amazed how they never really said 'I like you' or 'I love you' but we felt the feeling by their stares, gestures and so on. Truly AMAZING👏👏 The cliff scene was so beautiful. I don't how to explain it. Just beautifully shown😍 Again, it makes me so in love this drama and EarthMix.

OK. Super long post, but hear me out…
1. I love that Torfun was a character which was never in the scene with them, yet always with them at the same time. She was the soul of the series. For a character with so little screentime, she dominated the series. That's the impact she had on everyone, from the villagers to Tian and everyone in between. I just wished they told us how impactful she was by letting us know what she did for the village. To know that she left a very deep impression on the village yet not know how she did it was kind of frustrating.
2. BackAof did say the school is actually a character unto itself. And it's true. The school is where everything happened. From the initial frustration to the final happiness, the school is where everything is. I love that an inanimate character has a strong impact on the series.
3. I loved the storytelling, although the series would've done better with 2 more episodes. They needed to show us what a total brat Tian was and how he struggled to get used to the village. Like really struggle. As it is in the series, Tian looks as though he got used to the village after a few days, which as a city boy like him, would be impossible. Also, use that time to let us really get to know Torfun so that we can empathize with Tian and Phupha more.
Also, some parts were rushed and some parts were stretched out. I don't know if it's a director or editing or artistic thing, but some scenes felt off-pace. Having those extra 2 episodes would've fix those scenes.
3. I would've loved to see the kids see Tian back in school teaching them. That would be an amazing surprise.
Overall I loved the cinematography, the soundtrack, the storyline, the cast, the overall production. It was well worth the wait.
Just finished watching this drama with you, Evelyn!! I totally agree that even without the kiss or the bonus scene, this drama is already perfectly beautiful!! All the actors and production staff really did well to show us a strong story, a heart-felt romance that deserves to be recognized for being such a masterpiece. A Tale of Thousand Stars will definitely become part of my favorite Thai series 💙
I finally got time to finish your ATOTS reactions, and since you asked for our thoughts on the series I'll say my opinion.
This drama is on another level, girl. I'm surprised I loved it so much since my favorites tend to be more comedic and lighthearted series (like 2gether and My engineer). The story is so original and beautiful! It was really well developed for the short amount of episodes and I also loved those transitions between the village and his old life.
The OST is amazing; I'm a big fan of lighting and set design so I thought those were wonderful as well. Every actor did such an amazing job, especially Mix and If I didn't know this was his first role I would think he had other roles.
Overall this is a 10/10 series, no doubt.
Ps. Thank you so much for making these videos, I always look forward to watching them after I see the episodes. Especially since none of my friends really watch this type of series.
Evelyn you're my favorite reactor and i'm so happy I was able to follow this series with you ! I loved this drama so much, i was so looking forward to it and while I admit I was a little afraid the day the first episode dropped - because i had very high expectations - I was definitely not disappointed. This was such an emotional journey.. I'm sad because it set the bar so high for me now plot-wise, hopefully I'll still be able to enjoy other series 😅 Yet right now i'm drowning in my own tears, it's been one day and I can still see myself crying next Friday (because HOW TO MOVE ON... seriously💔💔)

Apparently, Mix has been Earth's friend for 7 years now and Earth recommended/suggested Mix audition for the part because he wanted to act with him. That's why they seem so close because in real life they are that close. And by close I mean just close not together close, close as best friends etc... I think this was Mix's first time in a series or first time as a main lead. I think it was first time in a series though.
I literally don't have much to say. This is a beautiful ending . Like I never expressed all emotions while watching something lol what a roller-coaster 😄Tian has most impressive character development and Mix was really good for a first acting

Love this drama so much, storyline was impeccable. This drama will forever be one of my favorites.
Tian went into the village as a stranger, but his time there made such an impact in everyone's lives.. It was fitting that he stayed and build a life there.. That place made him grow.. I wish we could see future stories about their lives in the village.. I know we have the special story in the novel but so far, there is no plan to adapt that.. Hopefully it did get popular enough to warrant a special episode/season 2! EarthMix, P'Aof and the team behind this deserve it!

I love this drama so much! Super impressed with Mix! I felt every emotion he portrayed here. And all I can say, P’Aof’s dramas never failed to amaze me. If ever he directs something again *ehem Bad Buddy ehem*, I’ll definitely watch it! Watching the behind the scenes of this drama just gave it all the more loving quality it possesses. The cast and crew of this series is hands down, one of the best combination of people. So sad to know Nammon is leaving GMM but his last role there as Doc Nam is definitely something to remember. He did a great job!
PS: just impulsively pre-ordered the Tea Packets and the DVD Boxset cuz I still can’t move on from this series. Can’t wait to see the deleted scenes! :)

10/10. Everything about this drama is so perfect! I feel the same way that I love how the first and last episode had parallels where we could see how much Tian had grown and developed as a person. Not gonna lie, when I heard Earth's version of the OST, that broke me. I just thought it was so smart to create three versions of the same song, but with each singer having a different context or conveyed a different meaning (of course the og is for the opening purposes, Torfun's version is to show her love for Phupha, and Phupha's version for his love for Tian). It was just seamlessly introduced throughout the series as well that it heightened the experience as the audience to great heights.
I'm so proud of Earth and Mix in here for their superb acting, with Earth having another lead role he deserves and Mix having this as his debut series. The plot itself already set this apart from other BL series, and because of the quality that they gave us for this series, I think this became a top contender for my fave BL series of all time ;u; That's saying a lot because there's He's Coming To Me as my fave BL series of all time skdnfkj
Every thing I wanted to say about this series, you said for me. This is my most favourite drama along with UWMA. I've laughed with you, cried with you and got angry shouting at the screen with you too. The wind song lyrics and the singing in this episode really made my heart ache, it was so beautiful. Ive been watching many of the BL Dramas last 1,5 years and this is probably the best so far with incredible acting skills, so beautiful scenery, music that was perfect to the different emotions, supporting actors and the romantic love story itself. Since I don't speak or read Thai I am glued to the clips with the English subs but the last episodes I didn't find so thanks Evelyn for letting me watch your last episodes with the subs together with your comments and reactions!

I fully agreed with your irritation at Phupha. I was so mad at him and I was mad at Tian's parents. It's all fine and dandy that they want what's best for Tian. I get it. Everyone wants their loved ones to have the best possible life. But nobody bothered to consider what Tian himself wanted. It's his life. He and he alone gets to decide what makes his life worth living. And Tian was truly happy living the simple life as a volunteer teacher with his hubby. He felt like he was worth something more than his family's power and wealth for the first time in his life. He had true value as a person. Tian didn't give a rat's arse about the fancy schools, the powerful connections his father had, the big fancy parties or the money he could throw around. He just wanted to feel worthy and be with the children and Phupha and the villagers. That was his desire in life and it's not a bad thing to wish for.
But nobody asked what Tian wanted to do. Nobody respected his right to choose his own path. Maybe one day he would have regretted his choices, but they still would have been his choices. I was beyond happy when he came back and finally decided to do what made him happy. I'd like to think that he finally told his mother to stop controlling his life and I'd also like to think that if that oaf of a hubby of his would still have been difficult, Tian would have just scoffed and continued to live his best life as a simple volunteer teacher for the kids. It's a good thing that Phupha came to his senses because that airport scene really saved this final episode for me. I absolutely loathe the "let's be apart for years for no particular reason other than DRAMA that doesn't lead to anything" trope and I was mentally preparing myself to be sorely disappointed in this finale. It's still not great for me personally as I simply cannot stand that trope, but at least this amazing show wasn't completely ruined for me. And really, I could forgive almost anything just because of that after credits scene.
