When steel curtain was operating, the ride would break down faster then every single hydraulic launch coaster out there.
And even SkyRush 😂
Steel curtain is the Mcdonalds Ice cream machine of Kennywood.

It was only closed for 1 week in 2022 and was open most of 2023 until late July. That it doesn't break down as often as people think it's just usually down for a while when it is. Skyrocket was like that sometimes too in it's early years
@@JMaster9877 dude, the ride was closed most of 2019, 2020 and 2023 now it’s closed this entire year, that’s how much of a nightmare it is.
The craziest experience is when you’re on the Thunderbolt and catch the exact moment Phantom is going down on the second drop over you!!! It’s wild!!! Such a cool thing if you’re lucky enough to catch the timing just right 😮
As a native Pittsburgher, just have to explain the old mill. It was the old mill for decades before it was Garfields revenge (there are some good TH-cam videos on it). It's dark and slow because it was basically the make out ride for young couples.

It is my 2nd fave behind Phantom
As someone who got over 100 rides on phantom last year, I can confidently say that it is an absolute banger
It’s phenomenal!
Same I rode it so many times in 1 day sometimes I get a headache from the brutual airtime hills.
The design is genius for your airtime bumps and moments to be comparable to your two main drops.
I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate the double down on it. It actually hurts my legs. Other than that I would be tempted to agree, I wish they would take that out and put in a much longer duration air time element that isn't as forceful. :/ If it wasn't for that I would probably ride it 100x a year too lol

so awesome to see you at my hometown park!! Grew up visiting annually feom the late 70s through the early 90s, and seeing the POV on the woodies brought back some memories for sure! Glad you checked out the classic flat rides too. "So Kennywood" ❤
Maaaan, you guys got the Old Mill. If only you had came when Garfield’s Nightmare was still the boat ride, I think you would’ve enjoyed it a lot more! The old mill is “nostalgic” to the park, so that’s why they brought it back
Yeah, I was impressed by how glass smooth their classic woodies were.
Kennywood is my home park and one im glad to call my home park and the Best park in Pennsylvania! The park is absolutely incredible and they have only been improving things moving forward
Kennywood is and always has been a great park, but doesn't compare to the awesome amazing Knoebels Amusement park !!

Kennywood does have a great mix of old and new rides. I grew up riding the old Kangaroo. It does ride exactly the same and the new light package looks wonderful. I saw you at Waldameer today. I hope there is a vlog coming. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Phantom's Revenge has always looked so great -- and it does have an excellent reputation. I've never heard anyone say that it's not a great coaster. It's definitely one of my U.S. bucket list coasters, and I plan to go to Kennywood in 2025. I've also been very curious to experience that double down on Jack Rabbit. Kangaroo looks both fun and very bizarre -- bizarre in the way that it has that ramp that the cars ride up, then hop off of. It doesn't even seem like something that would be a real ride -- more like something that you would see in some strange fantasy or sci-fi movie.
The double dip on the jackrabbit is awesome.
37 and I didn’t realize how unique the kangaroo was until maybe 5 years ago. It’s worth the ride and it was my favorite as a kid and is my son’s favorite ride right now and he’s 4. I hope it never goes away. Can’t kill a classic.

Awesome Video! I am glad to see Laughing Sal by The Old Mill ride. Kings Island is so fun and the beauty is that Kentucky Kingdome is right by there and if you go west an hour, maybe 2, you're at Holiday World - Home of the free soda and bees.
YOU CAN FABRICATE A BACKWARDS SEAT ON A NORMAL ROLLER COASTER TRAIN
Am I the only one who has done this or has nobody told me? I was at sfog with my friend the other day and we were riding Goliath in the back seat. By chance, I looked backwards and noticed the lift chain disappearing behind us was a cool visual. Suddenly I had a unique idea - I leaned outside of the seat and looked backwards for the entirety of the ride. It was WILD! You have to get in a specific position to minimize neck pain, but experiencing that Goliath airtime backwards was absolutely crazy. COASTERDASH I GOTTA SEE YOUR REACTION TO THIS!

Yeah, if you have a headache or are prone to getting them on coasters, looking backwards will definitely make that a lot worse lol. Sorry I made you do it more than once🙏

this was my childhood park, went multiple times a year growing up. It feels nostalgic, I miss it

Watching from Ontario Canada and Phantoms revenge was my absolute VERY FIRST coaster I ever went on! God I miss Kennywood, it's abaht time I went again

This is my homepark and honestly I’m proud of is.I know it might not be as good as surrounding parks but its still a very solid place in my opinion.
Great video! Its cool that part where Phantoms Revenge dives down into a ravine! It can only be surprising the first time you ride it though. A lot of terrain coasters there! Im going to stop saying anything about Steel Curtain now after what you said about it in this video. Im really looking forward to the Kings Island Vlog!

Did you get in with a selfie stick? They found mine and said no way... and I ended up using my arm all day.. Phantom's Revenge is a PHENOMINAL ROLLER COASTER! LIKE WOW! I did get a front row ride! Wish I would have gotten a few more rides a few weeks back. Sunny Saturdays can be busy though! Honestly, I think Phantom's Revenge is a top 10 for me.
I wish I would’ve gotten on that, next time!

Kennywood is my home park. I don't get a chance to go each year, and I'm sad that the Steel Curtain is closed this season. I've never had the chance to ride it because of the restraint system with long legs. I had an issue with Sky Rocket last time as they put me in the back row, pinning my legs with a lot of space between me and the lap restraint. I'm glad you guys had fun, and I wish I could have been there to meet you.

Just went for the first time in ages a couple of days ago. Both Phantoms Revenge and Jack Rabbit were both way better than I expected. Sky Rocket also went down a little bit in my rankings. Some of their classic flats were awesome like Kangaroo and the bumper cars
Garfield’s nightmare was low key better, it was silly, and it was the first ride I’d ride at kennywood it was definitely a staple for some Pittsburghers
I love your videos! I just recently discovered your channel and had to subscribe. I love that you did videos of my home park canobie lake park in NH. Also love that you reviewed storyland and Santa’s village. That video reminded me of so many memories growing up. Have you reviewed Knoebels in Pennsylvania yet? If not you should. When I went to Kenny wood the steel curtain was open I ride it it is the best ride there

I can’t wait to see your video from Kings Island! I was born and raised and still live in Ohio. I’ve only been to Kings Island maybe 3 or 4 times but when I was growing up, we would go to Cedar Point every year. It’s too bad about Top Thrill 2. Also, it’s been years since I’ve been to an amusement park.

I will say that both sky rocket and thunderbolt were running rough on my most recent visit l, so idk if that carries through with you or not, but they will likely become smoother throughout the year

I live in Pittsburgh (where kennywood lives) so I get to go every month and sometimes for my birthday aero 360 and black widow kill me
When ever i always went to Kennywood they never had free parking

Hotel in the middle of Pittsburgh and Allentown is risky business indeed. As a native of PA, best to stick to the left or right ends of the state and avoid the middle.
