16:30, 👏👏👏. It was nice knowin ya Marc. Just think about that poor ol gal who had to spread her dividers for 16 straight footlongs that fateful Sunday just to figure out what average length was.
Thank you for your informative videos. I am an American living in France. I have been trying to find translations between English and French for machinists. Using a normal translators rarely give me the term I am looking for. Can you advise me of where I can find translations for machinists? If not a direct translation, the French terms with definitions in French. Thank you.
I am intrigued about the attachments that you showed to allow using a scribe to scratch a line along the length of a bar. Do you have a video showing how to make one or possibly the dimensions so we could make a set? Thanks for your wonderful videos. I have learned a lot by watching them.
Hi Robert! I made the ones that I have a lifetime ago and I made them to fit my Starret combination ruler (no blueprints). The angles are not important but squareness and symmetry between the two feet are. I will get some close up photos and some measurements from the ones I have and pass them on to everyone in a little quickie video. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment, Marc
Is there a common site where retiring machinist sell metrology and other tools? It seems for an apprentice, making highly precise tools ourselves is not really an option.
