I just picked one of these up on Craigslist. Had to replace the RCA and ground wires and ordered a new belt, currently using a rubberband for a temp belt to test. The start/stop buttons are not functioning properly...as soon as I turn on the power, the turntable starts turning as if it is bypassing the start button. I can hold the stop button down and it will stop, but once it is released, it starts up again. And it won't stop when it gets to the end of the record. Light sensor and bulb are working and I hear the click once it completes the pass into the sensor, but it won't shut off. Any clue what might be going on here? Very nice table...hate to part it out. Has a $100 Bang & Olufsen cartridge on it. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, the turntable have a preamp, but it's not using.
Is it preamped or does it need a preamp?
