Mexican dude is 100 percent right. In Hispanic culture the word negro or negrito which means black or little black guy is not offensive. We use it as a term of endearment, so quite often you hear someone if you go to for example Mexico or Puerto Rico, you hear people be like "Hola negro, como eatas"? If we're translating it and literally it means hey black person how are you, but that's not what it means at all. It really means hey buddy hey person hey guy that I know something like that. That's how just about everybody on my father's side back in Puerto Rico would call him. They know his name, but they choose to call him that and he accepts it because it's not an offensive thing
