- Where in our lives do we struggle to wait? To accept that our prayers “aren’t being answered”?
For Zachariah and Elizabeth, it must have been agonizing to face infertility their entire lives. Elizabeth had such humility to wait upon the Lord even though he “wasn’t answering her prayer” and then to receive the fruit of her prayer even when it wasn’t the ideal time.
God had a plan for Elizabeth all along and did not forget her. He has a plan for you too-and he has not forgotten you.

Sister, I don’t know if you you will ever see this but thank you. Me and my husband have struggled with infertility for the past 7yrs and not once have I gotten pregnant. There was a time 2yrs ago where we could have done IVF and I asked him (my husband) to keep me strong because I knew that was what they were going to suggest when they said that would be the only way I could get pregnant after a previous Catholic doctor told us we went from a 3% to a 60%. I still turned away from the fact I could get what I wanted right then and there. Sister Ive been fighting with this heartache for so long and I just wanted to say thank you because time and time again I have to keep giving this to Our Lord but this time durning this time of the year felt so special!
My wife and I have also struggled for 3 years. With God all things are possible. God may place into your heart a child to adopt. Turning your struggle into your life’s biggest act of charity. It is so difficult to accept God’s will at times but I will pray for you.

I remember sharing my own infertility and miscarriage struggles vulnerably. (We have lost four children) All I wanted was to be heard and acknowledged. So, yes - I honor of your struggle and I am so sorry for your losses. And I also honor your valiant stance in looking to your Catholic faith to inform your decisions. I also remember how every single time I shared my losses, I would get some suggestion of what herb to try, what pill to take, what thought to think ... and on and on. And I told myself to be very mindful and not offer unsolicited advice. But the Lord has placed upon my heart a request to let you know just one thing.
The Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska approaches infertility and life in a way that is effective, honoring of the Church’s teaching, and hopeful when all else had “failed.” With their help we have five children. Please disregard this if it does not resound with you, and know I’ll be praying for your intentions either way. God bless you, there is still hope.

Thank you, Sr. Mariam. I think as humans we expect instant answers to our prayers as defined and dictated by our human nature. Personally, I have found that oftentimes the most difficult prayer is, "Thy will be done."
Please pray for my broken family. So many family members are hurting. In their pain they lash out in ugliness at other family members. They seem to have forgotten God.
Love these Family Members more, forgive them, pray for them. Find a creative way to bring joy into their lives.
May Venerable Patrick Peyton intercede for your family, that the Lord may pour out healing for your family, in Jesus name🙏

Wow...I was not expecting this! Sr. Miriam, you are so gentle and kind. I believe that those of us who've "seen stuff", can either become bitter, or become more compassionate, and recognize that so many of us are wounded. This is a very powerful meditation, and I will surely remember it, especially when I'm in His Presence.
One of the things I love most about being Catholic, is that it's a dynamic relationship; it's a dialogue. It's not "rules'.

desperately needed. I have so many hurts, past and present that I want to go away. I pray daily for family alienation to end. I pray that my children come back to God. I pray for healing from childhood trauma and recovery from a car accident.

I sobbed from the beginning of your talk to the end. I go to daily mass, say a daily rosary and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy all for my daughters. I've given them and all their problems to God. There is definitely a difference between knowing by faith and the experience of living. It seems to be the great temptation in this condition to follow the feeling instead of the faith. Some fall for faith being just a feeling or wishful thinking. We who struggle know better. It's knowing despite the lack, despite the sufferings. It's not a strong knowing. That's why there's doubt and hurt despite the faith being real. It is difficult to live. This message of the eventual discovery in God's presence that "Oh, that was the only way forward" is phenomenally helpful, Sr.
I have always wanted to tell you, Sister, how soothing your voice is to me. I took with you on my Camino-always looked forward to you on Halloween. Thank you.

Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour and God, you are my life, I'm part of your body. I love you more than anything and anybody else of this world.
I may have missed the point of the exercise for the things I brought up from the deepest places of my heart were my OCD and crushing loneliness. As I held out my hand, and before any other instruction was given, I saw Jesus turn my hand so my OCD and loneliness fell into his and he closed his hand and retracted it. I believe he was saying that they're in his hands now.
Dear Sister, I am totally sure that God wants and has the absolute BEST for me. I know His love for me and I absolutely Trust Him. Nothing means anything in this world compared to Eternal Life with HIM. All those people in the OLD Testament had not met Jesus yet! Lucky for me, I have met Jesus! Jesus is my everything! There is nothing in this world that can compare! This talk was for someone that did not know Jesus

What is it about the 2nd week of Advent that you just need to release? It is like John the Baptist calling from a
Holler, and your soul starts to tremble. This Baptist came from a dryness in Elizabeth Womb, like a long moaning cry. The Baptist insists, he insists that we move forward. AWAKEN, BE READY. To open our eyes to the one who will Baptize with the Spirit. Thank you Sr Miriam James. Keep me in your prayers and you will be in mine. Thank you Jesus for loving my heart and wanting my hurt, to free me, so your will, will be mine.
