Napaka informative Sir. Fuel consumption lang talaga, light foot sa 1.8s AT 2010 nakaka kuha ako ng 7-8km per liter sa city driving. Yung City 2009 namin 13-15kmpl sa light foot

I couldn’t agree with you more with regards to fuel consumption. Actually, for 1.8 S variant, it’s 8-8.3 is to 1 L, depending on usage or driving style. It’s considered a touring car, that’s why its fuel consumption for long driving is more fuel efficient.
Second, true that! Paint quality is really not that long-lasting. Specially, if the car is parked under the sun whenever you go to work.
Third, Leaks… I think this could be prevented, really, depends on how you maintain it. Like for an instance, O-rings should be changed in a span of 2-3 years or possible when you change fluids.
Fourth, I think, for me, is the inner engine support (passenger side). This is the usual problem for FDs. It’s life span only lasts for 2 years or some instances, less than 2 years. I’m guessing the main reason for this is that the engine is too big for the support and since it’s powerful, it can easily tear the elasticity of the tension bushing.
Lastly, the Mass Airflow sensor & the air something something pump next to Mass Airflow (sorry forgot the name). Those 2, I usually encounter a problem. It does affect the “idle” & air flow on the engine. Had to change those twice in a span of 15 years now.
One more thing, when I do PMS or change oil, I also replace the airflow filter, spark plugs (every after 2 services). Then for air conditioning, have it overall cleaning before summer season, not just by changing the air filter. This helps in providing much cooler car air-conditioner and somehow lessens the fuel consumption.

@@dongarciaa You’re most welcome, sir. I’m also planning to add Audio switch control on steering, have it shipped overseas. However, I need to have it checked from the service center if it’s applicable.
For additional info, if you’re using the stock head unit. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed… Whenever the car is running on a high speed, the volume of the head unit goes louder & when you go slow, it also lowers down the volume. Accdg to my research this is one feat of Honda Civic Fd.
By the way, my paint is starting to fade again. This will be the 2nd time. I had it painted thoroughly & even asked to make it thicker. Yet, it still fades easily in span of less than 10 years.
Also, I was informed that it is best to use Honda SN 0W-20 Genuine Fully Synthetic Engine Oil since the model/engine of the car is quite old. It is far more better to use this oil rather than other Synthetic oils because those are designed for new car models.

Correct nagla-lock nga yung brake sa likod. Sakit din ng honda civic yung tumutulo ang tubig pag umuulan. Tsaka halos lahat ng civic fd pinapapalitan na ng airbags. Mas mabuti ata kung check mo sa casa regarding that matter. Pero despite all of that, I still love my civic fd '07 M/T.
Yep. Part ata ng maintenance yun rear brake niya. Airbag issue, ni recall ng casa yan for free replacement. Yun tulo, thankfully haven’t experienced that, pero usually it has to do with the rubber mouldings ata

Hi Paps Don, Paps I’m planning to buy a 2nd hand car, torn between an FD 2010-2011 or altis 2011-2013. I know your a civic owner but is altis a good choice also? I'm seeing more low mileage selling 2nd hand altis kasi compare to FD's. Your thoughts please. Thank you. More power to your channel. =)
Yes papi. Altis is definitely a good choice also. If you’re gonna daily a 2nd hand car, I would go for the lowest “real” mileage you can afford. As a bonus, I believe that Altis would also be more fuel efficient compared to the FD. ✌️
Thank you so much paps Don. 😊 ig follower mo rin ako all the way here from Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija. And YES will use it as a daily “work horse”. Parang ang hirap lang kasi (at least for me) to choose a car that will make you more pogi and have much power (torque so to speak) than a much younger 2nd hand car with a good fuel consumption. My only worries lang sa altis yung AC nya. Malakas din ba? I mean just incase you ever got to ride one if you have friends who has one. 😅
Most modern car naman ngayon have good air conditioning system na papi. Hindi na uso ngayon yun “basta nissan, malamig ang aircon” 😅

Depende. Yun 1.8s yes may airbags na sila. Yun V variant walang airbag until the 08-09 model (i forgot exactly which year). Paano gamitin? Na dedeploy yan automatically during a hard car crash, so sana hindi magamit EVER. 😅

The only thing I hate on my FD is fuel consumption. Malakas humigop ng gas sa traffic. Masakit sa bulsa esp I'm still a student 😅

paint quality tlga ni honda d maganda, sa 2 cars ko 2001 lancer and 2005 Civic eagle eye mas nauna pang nagkaron ng faded parts ung civic even though mas bago sya, pero sa FB above models mukang nag improve na si honda sa paint

Depende sa year model paps. 06-08 mas mura, yun mmc na 09-11, significantly mas mataas presyo. Silip ka lang sa fb marketplace. Syempre depende rin sa condition nun sasakyan. Ballpark: 250k-450k
