  • In December 2017, we trekked to Nagaland's spellbinding Dzukou Valley, one of the last remaining paradises in India.
    Later during the same Nagaland trip, we undertook an arduous ascent of Japfu Peak, the second highest mountain in Nagaland.
    The video exhibits the wonders that we experienced. The first part of the video covers the trek to and the exploration of Dzükou Valley, while the second part covers the challenging ascent of Japfu Peak.
    If you are planning to either trek to the Dzükou Valley or scale Japfu Peak (two different treks), you simply must read our in-depth ultimate guides for both of these adventures.They are the most comprehensive guides on the Internet for these treks.
    The guides cover everything you need to know to undertake these two treks independently without a local guide, with information on the natural history, geology, where to stay, costs and entry fees, best time to visit, what gear to bring, detailed descriptions of the routes, and much more.
    Please read the guides from start to finish before asking us any questions about these treks!

      Hey Ajit, you should travel to this place once this lock down eases, there won't be many people then. Also go during when Dzukou lily blooms will be a good experience, if you want a little more secluded place then you can trek to Japfu peak, Nagaland's highest peak.

    How much does it cost for this trip?

    • @Twobirdsbreakingfree
      @Twobirdsbreakingfree  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much! We travelled from Guwahati via Dimapur to Kohima to Kisama and then to Dzukou Valley. If you travel independently without a guide and stay in cheaper accomodation, survive on local food then it's quite affordable. Do check out our guide to Dzukou Valley for more details. Ahh thanks Jyotirmoy! We must have crossed paths several times during December 2017 in Nagaland 😁 We were in the tent site 'Zingaros' near Kisama Heritage village,
      behind the mountains. How was your experience of Dzukou Valley? Did you do any other exciting stuff in Nagaland? You have captured some amazing panoramas in your video! Keep up the good work and keep travelling... hope our paths cross again and this time give us a shout 😁

      Twobirdsbreakingfree hope we can meet someday... Our experience in Nagaland was really good. Loved the Hornbill festival in Kisama heritage village...Dzukou was like paradise...we couldn't sleep in the night cuz it was freezing. The next morning at 4 AM we explored down the valley..it was like a frozed blanket..even the small stream was frozen as you might have seen in the video. We returned the next day via Zakhama but on the way we got lost...had to stay the night in a rest house and returned early morning. It was a lovely experience.

    • @Twobirdsbreakingfree
      @Twobirdsbreakingfree  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup it was freezing cold! We had just one sleeping bag and had to rent several of those paper thin blankets from the guys there who run the guest house. Guess what we hardly slept!
