I bloody love Gary! I’m not sure the last time the panel spoke to a real person or a person without a hidden agenda but they looked scared to speak in front of him as they knew he’d call them out.

Great to see you on the Beeb Gary and I'm sure a lot of us would like to spread the message....but one very important request please.....in order to reinforce your point about 'the £700billion given to the rich', please can you explain this further and break it down into a clear explanation with evidence of how it happened in practice? I think this is crucially important if we want to spread the message and challenge people in power.. If I say "£700 billion was given to the rich", the very next questions will be "where is your evidence for this" and "how did this work in practice"... I've still not got my head round this yet after watching a few of your videos. Thanks.

Gary reaching the mainstream brings hope to us all. They will love your background of working in the city, that holds weight in their world. I just hope the powers that be dont step on you when they realise they don't want your message and world view getting out. Your voice gives us hope but knowing how this media world works, no doubt someone's already working on not allowing this to happen regularly. The BBC is RUN by a Tory donor and many other management positions have been filled with Tory's due to that. The most watched news in the country headed and run with a heavy Tory Bias. The media in the UK and USA is the first port of call if you want real change. Those that control the media control the minds of the mass... and they know that and use it daily to keep the people divided.

    • @Kid_Ikaris
      @Kid_Ikaris ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@philipdutton785 yeah from my cursory research I'm seeing a change of the BBC trust in 2017 to a new Royal Charter. And a board filled with Tory names. It's been a let down to know what I thought was a capitalist country with state institutions (I before this realization would have included the BBC in that) like the NIH isn't what I idealistically thought it was. When a government is controlled by capital there doesn't seem to be an important distinction. This helps explain why these economic ideas long since disproven are still so alive in the British publics image of their government.
Does the US blame the UK for infecting us with the parasite of finance capital? Does the UK blame the US for showing how to hollow out once great institutions? Or do we both blame the dutch?

I am so so glad finally we have someone who has the guts, the power and status to speak out! Great Job Gary!
I lived in the UK for 10 years worked my bottoms off and still lived in poverty... Not being able to rent a f*cking flat in your 30s/40s in the outskirts of London is utterly ridiculous. Like the system is designed to keep the working class in hamster wheels forever. From Zone 2 1/2 onwards are pure slums. If we watch documentaries about the 19th century London slums when they created them it is the exact same situation today with the only difference that we've become more hygienic, we have technology and have a bit more to eat, but the GOV barely makes it possible to get out of there.
The working class is doing all the maintenance work to support the middle class and the rich and they get spat on in return. Now even the middle class started to struggle. So Who The F*CK are we working for??? That is the question.
Believe it or not in 2nd world countries like Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania the living standards are way higher for the working class. I can rent a flat easily whilst earning minimum wage and I don't even need to kill myself with overtimes. People need to realize what is going on.

Gary I admire your courage in stating your case on national television and face-to-face with the opposition who defend the non-tax paying wealthy because they donate to the Conservative Party. What I feel was missing in this discussion, and this perhaps because I didn’t see the entire show, is the source of the government money. My understanding is that the money comes from government bonds that wealthy people buy and earn interest on thus increasing their wealth even more. So the “generosity “ of the government still benefits the rich in the long term but only provides short term benefits to the less well off. If this is correct then this knowledge could provide useful context for the public.

There were some really great moments in this clip, Gary. I think you did a great job getting your points out there and making it clear that the scale of the solution does not fit the scale of the problem. I hope you continue to get more time in front of these broader audiences.

That was magnificent Gary. None of those smug people are used to being challenged by someone on the “left” who cannot be readily dismissed as a dirty poor socialist, nor be co-opted into some kumbaya drum-circle. They all spend the whole time on their collective back foot as you clearly make your point that the government has been enabling the wealthy to sink society for decades and it’s reaching a critical point where the middle class will simply cease to exist as an asset owning class.
Your message is simple and you’re smarter than any of them as far as economics goes they know they can’t joust with you.
Well done! Keep hammering away at the wealth tax message.

@@garyseconomicsI completely agree with you mate and I can relate. Your message, and persons such as yourself, are exactly what the ordinary person need right now. So I'm happy to see that they invited you on in the first place you know?
That shows that they aren't.... all the way right biased , etc or whatever, you know but, they definitely create a hostile environment vibe wise don't they, it's challenging with such a serious tone, I think you handled this very well. Such professionals as you know are trained in public speaking and very experienced at cultivating a good image, which can often cloak true intentions, I see through all - of it though.
Anxious movements only showed passion, I wonder if the producers are welcoming of someone they now know - has solutions, that they will likely know themselves exist, but that they probably DO NOT want being raised with the public...
Now they know that you know your stuff so to speak, and aren't just virtue signalling, preaching or whatever, so it is not easy to frame as if there is no genuine alternatives to the governments selfish choices.
I would hope to see if they would welcome you on again, I think they may do in the future, your profile and subscribers are going to grow exponentially.
      Onward and upward regardless.
Many millions are shouting out for representation, I have wondered how far you would take this when you earn the influence and power..
The dynamic here is brilliant, I like politics/ psychology/ body language and discussions like this are rare, so I've watched this a few times. Angela Eagle and you were a team, she really liked you, have you wondered how different it may have been, potentially, with a different panel? They can be very clever, hostile and manipulative, challenging indeed.
The energy between you and Annabelle! ;) I see that you have worked with her before...I think I can sense a secret crush ahaha im joking bruva, lol. Lots to think about, I've wrote enough for one message, maybe I shouldnt have wrote this after a big boy zoot... hey ho :D
A genuine thanks if you read all of this mate, I think you're a top geezer!!

Years ago I watched a documentary on bailiffs chasing historic tax debts. It was a privately owned bailiff company working on behalf of HMRC as they where apparently too bogged down. Obviously this was chasing tax money owed to the crown. The documentary makers traced the complex ownership trail of this privately owned business and they were based in Panama and not paying tax. I wish you well Gary.
