Welcome to Motherhood! Ain’t no hood like motherhood. 😂 Don’t feel bad if your reading tanks this next year, it will pick back up as your daughter grows up. Congrats again on becoming a mom!
@@carriem1183 thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ you must speak from experience! I hope having an e-reader will help me a lot. Right now, I read on it during feedings.
I have a 13-year-old daughter, and for my first mother’s day, I bought myself a Kindle. They were relatively new at the time, so mine isn’t in color or anything. It still works fine, but I don’t use it often. I’m an expat living in France, so not sure a Nook would work for me. An e-reader with a light would have been awesome for feedings. You’re so lucky! Enjoy!
@ awww that is so sweet though!! I have friends who are expats! I forget where they went but I remember it was in South America. Your daughter must love living in France. It’s so beautiful there ❤️
I've read all of John Gwynne work, and do reccomend starting with Shadow of the Gods! The Malice series (The Faithful and the Fallen) is great, but has a slower start. I wasn't a big fan of Can't spell treason without tea either. My 0roblems were • they had seemingly endless money • the printing press hadn't been invented, which would have made handwritten books way to expencive for regular ppl (that was an unforced error she didn't need to add the detail of handwritten books) • very few ppl could read before the printing press, so they also wouldn't have had customers. • the bad guys were unbelievably bad at their jobs, which made them feel like goons from a childrens TV show pretending to be serious threats.
@@zachreads I completely agree with all of this. I also didn’t like the magic system. It didn’t make sense that she’s the most powerful mage and needs to recharge but then doesn’t need to recharge after battle scenes that seem way more intense? There was a lot of that book that really bothered me. I also thought our main characters were super weak. They talk a lot about the “work they did for their relationship” but we never got to see that. Also, some of the arguments they had, were super valid and it seemed like one person just decided to silence their feelings? And the way I would forget whose point of view I was in because they were identical in thought and intonation. So yes, it wasn’t a very good book all around. And I am excited to start Malice next year and finish Bloodsworn as well. I’m really enjoying Gwynne.
