Even though he looks like a really cute child you'd just want to protect at 2:08 , there's something so terribly heartbreaking about Graham in this video. He looks so confused and lost. I don't know, it makes me feel like he's falling down and down, and you just want to hold out your hand to him and tell him he's not alone.
the start of hobo damon, buying two bikes and never having to put a lock on it so if anyone steals it, it's ok cos he's returning something back to the community LOL
@@tyjodun376 th-cam.com/video/KWRPBHcCspM/w-d-xo.html sorry I'm a bit late, but it's this interview. At one point he tells that one hasn't been stolen for a whole year despite not having locked it, lol
Wow! this interview is so...dark and melancholic. You can see it in both of them, well specially Graham, but I don't know, it's like they really opened themselves in this interview showing what was really happening in a...subtle way. Damon realized that in 13 there was a much bigger freedom in the making of the album, and that they really did what they thought it was what they wanted, instead of pleasing the media, while Graham is being pursued and haunted by his own demons.
this video.... i don't know it gives off quite an uneasy feeling. graham especially. i know that he was really going through some shit around this time and that's why damon was so protective of him always. for example, from 00:10 to 00:40 you can really understand how he felt then. and then at 2:07 he seems very very vulnerable and almost childlike, yknow? he was really at his lowest point from 1999 to 2002, and who knows how bad it was before that. with damon in this video i find it a bit funny because it was when he started his "hobo phase" as everyone calls it.
@@tali6229 that was in 1995, during the celebration party after Country House got to number one, in the midst of the Blur vs Oasis media feud. The whole thing made him very disillusioned because it became quite ridiculous and stopped being about the actual music. He seems very protective of him, just read this lovely interview: www.pinterest.it/pin/747738344380950435/ They have such a beautiful friendship, even though they've fallen out several times. I'm glad they're on good terms again and they've overcome their battles a long time ago. I agree though, in this video you can clearly see that Graham was in a really bad place...it makes me sad. Hobo Damon though, I remember a 2014 interview of him saying he doesn't lock his bikes and each time they get stolen it's like "giving something back to the community"...LOL gotta love how he doesn't care :D
At first Damon tried to accommodate him by giving him more control over the music. It didn't improve things. Graham ultimately left the band. Damon refused to replace Graham so it was just the three of them and their final album think tank.
Frankly watch this and he scratches his nose. It aggravates me. Like for Christ sakes you're on footage scratching your nose in the exact manner an opiate user does be more discrete.
I always know when I see this interview, especially Graham talking about his feelings i know that I'm not in a good state of mind. I love damon, but graham for me is very sensible and quiet, i know how it is
Im autistic and have ADD, and I cant help to see my my own body language in him @2:08 he might just be down and shy but that is like looking a footage off myself
I can’t take Damon Albarn seriously after listening Graham Coxon talk. It goes from introspective, vulnerable to arrogant and show off. It goes from bookish nerd to frat f boi if you know what i mean.
graham: 😕 "why does a painter bother.....to paint n paint n paint...."
damon: 😁😀😀 two bikes pls 😀😀😁
this video made me understand why damon is so affectionate and protective of graham.
This, this makes my eyes water. Damon is like a little protective puppy for Graham. It's a sweet relationship they have.
^^^^ Me too. Also, when you know that Damon stopped Graham from almost committing suicide it's even sadder.
alex really?? is there like an article or video where he talks about it
CrystalJupiter He mentions it in their documentary, No Distance Left to Run.
Ahhh ok. Haven't watched that one yet, I've been meaning to.
I'm a new fan so im trying to consume all the content and whatnot heh
‘i’m allowed to do exactly what i want in blur, because i’m important in blur, like damon, alex and dave’ i want to sob 😀
Poor wee Graham had to convince himself that he's important. My heart 😭😭😭
graham was screaming help. it's so sad
Graham looks so beautiful here...he just glows. But he sounds so sad. This makes me want to hold him and tell him everything is okay.

He was an alcoholic during this time
True that. Unfortunately there are bunch of pricks who feeding off on bullying a gentle souls like Graham.
He's A talented man
2:07 Graham? hmmm?

Sure. Before 13 there was a Country House a cheesy song that Graham dislike to the point he wanted to end it all by jumping out of Soho building.
I want to give graham a hug
god this interview makes me so sad
ah. love this video. graham looks so beautiful, yet very sad. and damon's enthusiasm for bikes is delightful. i love bikes too.

This interview must have been a novelty at the time. I appreciate the solemn tone of it.
The more I hear Graham talk, the more I realize how similar we are. A lot of things he talks about are things that I think about a lot.
Graham sounds so lost and it breaks my heart. You can definitely tell he's not as open. :(
graham is so dainty
Quisiera abrazar a Graham con toda mi alma. Se ve tan vulnerable:(
damon gives me walter white vibes in this video lmao

@NapalmHeart7 yea... he looked so vulnerable and lost. makes you wanna cuddle him and give him cookies with hot choco.
He seems really ill at ease in this video. Clearly got stuff going on.
