Oh, PLEASE! "Race" is everything in America since its inception. As an example, our founding document, the Constitution, states that the people who were forcibly brought over from Africa were to be considered THREE FIFTHS (3/5) human! It's not as bad or open as it used to be, but "race" is still foundational to our country's existence. It may wax and wane or ebb and flow, but "race" will always be a factor in America AND the world! In fact, I long ago gave up on human beings of different races getting along with each other while we are on this sinful, dying planet with our sinful natures. We won't have true brotherhood and love for one another regardless of race/ethnicity/nationalty until we are converted and taken to Heaven.

Johnson’s résumé is deeper than being a poor public school teacher. Prior to being elected mayor, he was the cook county board of commissioners. How successful was he as a commissioner?

As a teacher, he should've been fired for not giving his students homework or not giving students "F", if they deserved it. It was his way of protesting and using your/our kids as guinea pigs. The school i was bussed to was racial riots every week and in the news often. But it was still safer than Austin on Chicago's westside. And that was in 70's.

That’s ironic. I went to Kenwood Academy back in my day also because of their programming. The neighborhood school around the corner from my home had nothing at all to offer me other than danger. The school system needs to step up and cultivate programs that invest in kid’s futures. Parents also need to step up and vocalize their concerns, if they care…
