    I've been playing on the Gretsch vintage select players edition 59 silver/sparkle jet with the pinned bridge. It is an awesome sounding guitar and I love the pups in it.

      I would LOVE to own one of those Japanese Gretschs one day. Definitely a sparkle one as well, I love that Gretsch sound.

    Really nice thanks, and helpful to have one guitar left and the other right, have I missed a list of sound / effects settings anywhere ? Still great song and great sounds, love the tele sound

      Thanks Colin! Glad it helped. I don't have any settings posted anywhere. Just the gear I used in the description. Sadly, by now I have forgotten just how I would have had my pedals set at the time

    • @JoeMcDaniel

      Heavy modulated dotted 8th delay, and a darker heavy mix long decay hall reverb.

    I've always been curious about kemper profilers, how do they compare to tube amps in your experience? Tone is absolutely killer by the way! Keep it up bro, God bless!

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jack. When it comes to the Kemper, the hardest thing to get used to is not having a speaker right there in the room. The Kemper is producing the sound of a mic'ed amp, so the tone is more 'produced' sounding IMO. It feels pretty different to play through than an amp in the room, even through a monitor.
      With that being said, after getting used to everything, the tones you can achieve are incredible and endless. It's an incredible piece of equipment! Blessings to you bro!

    If I were to play this song in the key of F, how do I go about transposing ?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to move everything up by 4 frets

  • @trebor5760

    Great tone! Can I ask if you are using any drives to get that lead tone. Can’t quite get what I want.. also is it the legacy delay? Thanks very much

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply. I was using the Mzo.Effects Blue for overdrive here. And also at the time I was using just the Single Delay. One key to getting that lead sound is placing a delay before the amp section. I usually placed a delay before and after.

    What gauge strings do you have on the tele and gretsch respectively?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was using 10-46 on both at the time

  • @jamesdanko2465
    @jamesdanko2465 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you run the reverb in parallel to your dry signal? I can’t get my mix up that high without losing the clarity of the notes which you still have

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't remember if I was doing that for this video. I do know that I did run reverb in parallel at times, so that could be the case.
      Another thing I did was put a reverb before the amp stack, that might have made it seem wetter. Also both the guitars were recorded in mono.

  • @mzo.effects1254
    @mzo.effects1254 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That tone on your tele at the beginning is KILLER. How'd you get it?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's a parameter in the Kemper delays labeled "flutter intensity" and "flutter rate". I cranked those up, and I got that crazy destroyed delay sound. Sounds killer!!

    • @JoeMcDaniel

      Sorry I missed your comment Matias! For the intro I used a heavily modulated dotted 8th delay with long repeats. I also used a heavy mix long decay hall reverb.

  • @victor199541

    Nice tone man. If you could buy only one of these 2 guitars. You would take the squier or the gretsch?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Victor! First of all let me just say that you can't go wrong with either, but if I had to pick one, it would be the Gretsch.
      Mainly because of two reasons:
      I love having the Bigsby because it allows me to add vibrato to chords. I'd love to slap one on my Tele.
      Secondly, it sounds so unique and so good. It does both dirty and clean tones so well. I love that great Gretsch sound.
