A friend built a house abroad. Their children told them that they would not go and live back home. UK is their home. It devastated the parents. 25 years later, they have had problem after problem with the house. People renting for free and builders cur corners. Only to be told that the problem is with the foundation. How devastating. The brother was responsible in overseeing the building of the house. What does one say or do in such a case? London UK.

My advice to people is that a person has to know what's best to do, brick and motor abroad or back home. My cousin and his wife built a beautiful house back home in the late 90s. Unfortunately he passed away and the wife also passed away three years later. They never lived and enjoy their house. They were both professionals in the UK. So sad.
I know l am late here, but l would say buy properties home. Go there in person ,buy it then rent it out. If it's a mortgage the house can even pay for itself . Location is also important when buying properties.
I personally think he could invested in both....but like Dr said, war and disasters are unpredictable thats why rich guys have houses in many countries...Nigerian had violence going on what if some western world country had intervened like in Syria lebanon and destroyed the whole place...

It does not matter how much you make in the area you invest in. Invest where interest comes in.
