As others have said, must have snow chains. Also, I travel with eight roll-up recovery tracks. Yes, eight. Two per tire. Backing up or moving forward, you keep putting continuous tracks for all four tires as you go.
@@steveh1328That’s solid advice! Snow chains are definitely a must for those conditions, and I love the idea of traveling with eight roll-up recovery tracks. That’s a serious setup for tackling snowy terrain. Thanks for sharing your method…I bet having continuous tracks for all four tires is a game changer! Appreciate the tip!
Anytime! It was nice to see someone come along and help out. Folks in Utah are good about that. I only have a 2014 Honda Pilot, so I have more concerns about getting stiuck. Be safe out there.
Dear Warn, Please consider a sponsorship of Jonny Taco Outdoors. I have watched a number of videos that would showcase your winch in action. Thank you, a concerned a subscriber.
I’ve had a Warn sitting in my garage and did order a front bumper July 2023 from Demello Offroad. Unfortunately they never produced the bumper and as of recently I canceled my order. Next Winter I’ll have to have a front bumper ready to go.👊🏻
Hi Johnny! Your narration and creativity filming is top notch! At my age, I don't venture out much in extremes of weather... too hard on an old man! Not to mention my Dodge in exploration and adventure form comes in at a portly 9500 pounds... it would take a pretty big rescue vehicle to save my bacon! Your video was a reminder to me of the raw beauty I had to give up experiencing and how unforgiving nature can be at its finest. I did get enough of those experiences as a younger man... Anyway, I'm happy you made it out and good on you for lending those guys a hand changing their trax out to tires. I'm really enjoying your channel and looking forward to watching more of your videos! Thank You for putting yourself out there!
Glad you got out safe brother! Looking forward to seeing your perspective on the barracks trail. We just did it in May and it’s probably my favorite trail ever.
wow that was rough! watching this in summer about to head into the desert for 2 weeks it is something else to think of all that cold and snow/// awesome scenes but man that had to be frustrating, you get the truck to move and get stuck again/ ugh// Thank God for those guys, got to love the tracks on the truck! nice at the lower elevations too, im sure it was a relief to be down there. great video thanks for sharing.
12:30 Having a winch would probably have made that go a lot faster, even if it was just turning the vehicle around a few degrees at a time. A longer shovel wouldn't have hurt either. Traction boards are not very often enough in situations like that. People often think traction boards are all they need, but in my experience that is not very often actually the case. Personally, I won't go offroad without a winch (especially with only the 1 vehicle), at least to any place that has trees and rocks and other options for anchors.
@@jonnytacooutdoors Bummer. I drive a Jeep Wrangler, and winch bumpers are everywhere for those. Best of luck finding something that works for you and will let you install your winch. Hopefully sooner rather than later, as Wheeling Season is upon us. Yay! 😃
You overcome the big challenge Jonny, the drone footage shows how much snow have fallen. Again, nice fire along site the river. As always epic episode Thanks Jonny Taco cheers
As I am watching your video dealing with and experiencing snow, I am suffering with 100+ degree heat index and high humidity weather. I don't know which would be more fun. Great video as always 😎👍
Wonderful episode. Wishing you many more great adventures! I enjoy watching and learning about different places. Maybe someday knowing more about these place i might want to visit them too? So awesome! Dang - you were stuck, big-time bro! I bet if we all put money on it, the last thing we would have thought that was going to recover you was a Durango on tracks! Keep up the awesome videos brother! 👊🏼🙏🏼😀
Nice run. Man after my own heart, wasting time thinking about getting out there and taking time to get after it! I've got a 21 offroad and my 1st trip was Utah. After a few times framed out I knew what how I could better my rig and now I spend a little less time stuck, but I do get stuck! Keep on keeping on. Thank you.
@@BackcountryBrete I think they have limitations but it's perfect for a Jeep or a mid size truck. Made by several companies, hard part is the front hitch.
Just bought a fridge and wanted to know a couple of things. I have a goal zero 500 to use with my fridge and was wondering if I need to get a bigger power station to keep the fridge going through out the night.what size power station do you recommend.
Give it a try and see how it does. There’s a lot of factors that come into play. Most important is the weather! In the winter you can get away running to longer as you can unplug it. 😎

Hi Jonny, Just wondering if do you have a twin battery set-up for the engine?
Hey I do not I just have a starter battery.

@@jonnytacooutdoorssummer. I'd Consider a hitch mount so you can swap front to back. I have a bumper mount and solo it has its limitations.
