it really shows how Lucifer felt about losing Uriel. hopeless rage, heavy guilt, depression and mostly raw sadness. He loved his brother, he never wanted anyone to die. to see him cry on screen and to whimper like a little kid broke my heart. it seemed like he did it without even knowing he did, but once it was over he realized he's lost something he had never lost before and oof that symbolic ending to the song, just violently cutting off at the lowest notes.
The whole scene was incredibly emotional. Lucifer, slowly losing his sanity over playing this while Amenadiel rejects his father in broad daylight. The director was a genius honestly, as Amenadiel says he's done with a father who isn't even there, and right after that godrays shine heavily through the trees. It was indeed raw sadness, and I couldn't praise enough the actors, especially Ellis and Woodside, and the ones who came up with it.

I just got into Lucifer last weekend and watched this episode last night. Hearing 'The Unforgiven' played on his piano gave me chills. Definitely my favorite Metallica song and this was an amazing cover.
I remember seeing this scene during the show, and I just loved it so much, because you can see how broken Lucifer is and regrets what he did, it's just a fantastically written scene with the add-in of this song, and just a fantastically written show in general.
Lucifer avoids facing his emotions cause he can't handle it and ends up acting childish.. playing the piano allowed him to express his feelings rather than keep ignoring them

So we keep distracting ourselves with this or that on a daily basis, put a smile on and pretend it's all good. The emotions are still there though and they continue to affect you on a subconscious level (causing damage in the long term). When it's time to sleep and you're left alone with your thoughts there's no escaping anymore.. so I think that might be when you're forced to face them
Yea my girl ended it with me. And the playing both helps and doesnt at the same time. But that's the only way I can let my emotion out. I just wish i knew how to let her know how much I care about her

Hey guys, It's been 2 weeks and I've had a lot of comments/emails on my last upload to make an extended version because the version on the show was a little too short. So here it is! I know the rhythm is a bit different than the Orignal written by Metallica.... but so is the version played by Lucifer (Tom Ellis). I did not cover the (guitar) solo part because I personnaly don't like solo's meant for guitar played on the piano. I'm sure like a lot of people I watched the end and thought it was just a sad song. about 10 seconds in thought holy shit he is playing the unforgiven. what a perfect way to end that apisode. I've listened to it 100 times. the piano just takes it to a whole new level.
This version is darker than pianotarium's unforgiven cover and in my opinion this one gives more into the emotion of the song. I listened to that version first then i discovered this one and i have to say it that version lacks something that i can't put it in words. I'm sure like a lot of people I watched the end and thought it was just a sad song. about 10 seconds in thought holy shit he is playing the unforgiven. what a perfect way to end that apisode. I've listened to it 100 times. the piano just takes it to a whole new level.

This version is darker than pianotarium's unforgiven cover and in my opinion this one gives more into the emotion of the song. I listened to that version first then i discovered this one and i have to say it that version lacks something that i can't put it in words.
