    Roof Cleaning Cambridge
Hi guys. welcome to a bit of a late posting of one of my weekly videos. My apologies, I had to pick up some new equipment yesterday which took me most of the day when it should have only taken a couple of hours, so had no time to finish my edit.
Anyway, as explained in the video, this was a job carried out for the neighbour of a previous customer.
Having worked on the next door neighbours property previously, I thought I could remember the layout of the rear garden on this property pretty well. So didn't check it on google earth, or pay a visit......so when I arrived, I was annoyed at myself for completely forgetting about the pergola that was next to the conservatory. This made me quite nervous and apprehensive that I wasn't going to reach up to the top of the roof, as then i'd have to postpone the job, lose that days pay, and order another carbon fibre section for both the pressure washing pole, and the chemical application pole.
Come and join me, and see how I get on! Cheers, Nick.
Oh, unfortunately I didn't get around to cleaning the fence, I had quite a lot of quotes, and a meeting with one of my regular commercial customers to fit in on both days, so just didn't have time. Might have a word with each owner of the shared fence, and see if they're okay with me coming back and cleaning it at a later date.....that'd be quite a satisfying clean for sure.

You sure had your challenges on this one. I knew you’d get it done beautifully 😊 And I think you’re being humble about your work even if you say the water pressure takes most of the weight. It’s not there when you soft wash or when you scrape roofs. 👍👍

Hi Nick. Brilliant job, as expected. And very interesting too! I had no idea the water jet actually holds it's own weight!
Thanks very much for the (unexpected) upload, have a fantastic week :)

I absolutely loved the lessons at the beginning of the video!!!! I feel ready to go out and conquer a roof....not. 🤣 I think it is the fact that you make it look so easy. Great job on this roof, especially in spite of the pergola. Thanks for sharing, Nick. Have a great week. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve not done any roof cleaning as of yet but an idea I thought about would be tie wrapping some lay flat hose to the bottom gutter feed, lay flat into a wheel barrow that’s drilled with plenty of drain holes… catch all the dirt while the water drains, bit less mess to clean at the end of the job, or would that not really work ? You may of already done this maybe.
    Cracking job as usual mate👍🏻

I recently had a pump failure on my home use 2000psi electric washer, so I got a new petrol one rated at 3800psi. The damn thing nearly blew me backwards off the ladder the first time I pulled the trigger...... Had to reduce the engine revs and hence the pressure to keep it better suited to my household jobs, haha. It sure blows away the electric one - much better.

Nice one! I really enjoyed you explaining the power of the pressure. I hope the grass didn't evolve into a swamp while explaining 😉
Google earth doesn't show pictures in lifetime, they have a little bit of age usually. Have you ever encountered a case where the area has changed in the meantime when you quoted from an older Google Earth photo?

That was interesting. Thanks for all the info at the beginning. Those terrace roofs are all very dirty and the one you cleaned last year really stuck out in its clean state! Hopefully others will follow suit and get theirs cleaned like this one you just did. I think you are still selling yourself a bit short about the lance, I think you called it? The water may hold the weight, but you still need to direct it, etc. it only works as well as the person doing the work. See you next week!

cracking job as normal, its a shame there isn't anyway to fit a pressure gauge near the trigger so u can control it from there save getting down each time u need to change it.

  • @CatLoverX74

Hi Nick 👋 Do you do all the jobs yourself? I was just curious if you had anyone working for you. You did a great job! Especially having to deal with the pergola. I asked you a ways back about the pole thinking it’d hurt your arms and back. You kindly answered and I was surprised the water takes so much of the weight. Your demonstration really showed exactly how much! 😮 It was wild you could hold it with one hand 😅
P.S. I know they’re separate houses but it still bothers me to see a clean roof and the other part dirty 😂

Thanks for you're help on the phone the other night mate it helped loads. Have u tried the pedal trigger? It has an adjustable pressure on it but obviously u get less mobility to a normal trigger, I've found it handy on the jobs where its just me as it saves some of the up and down the tower to change the pressure. Another top video BTW, I'm about halfway thru so far just praying ure going to hit the edge from last year's job while ure up!!! All the best

  • @einfelder8262

Excellent job the roof if it could would be smiling 😊

He turned the lance pressure up & sat on the end of it so he could hover over to the guttering & refit it - magic carpet style 🤣
(Of course I'm joking - my guess is he could walk along the edge of the conservatory as it looked like the end wall was brick)

The pergola was very wobbly, plus it would be quite dangerous standing on a few boards that weren't firmly attached, and no rail supports, some may consider doing that, but it's not something i'd feel safe doing 👍
