@@BenitoCamelasCuevas You should listen to Adam's appearance on the Pointless Podcast, he goes into alot of detail on the transition to G4 and why it failed.
tell me about it... i was 13 in 2003.. im now about to turn 30. but I can still remember my gaming moments from my teenage years like it was yesterday... crazy how fast time flies..
Just a head's up... this is actually episode 68, "'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004,' 'Neighbors From Hell,' 'Rainbow Six 3'," from 10/23/03. It also premiered on TechTV, not G4. X-Play's first episode aired April 28, 2003, so you are aware. :)
Look up "slap apple tech tv" on google, that's how I got these. Its a huge collection of old tech tv and early G4, the only x-play episodes are the ones I've already uploaded though. I've been on the look-out for more X-Play episodes but most seem to have disappeared, you might wanna try G4 rewind on twitch (IIRC), its a stream of old shows and it has a lot of stuff I haven't seen anywhere else.
The problem was the drive to create better graphics and keep moving to new technology. Now even 2D pixel art games can be far less efficient than a Gamecube game. Software used to be so much more optimized, but for some reason most game creation tools do not allow for great performance and efficiency except when compared to modern consoles.
Wish I could find the episode where Adam reviews a game in which the character can continuously run into a wall, so then adam takes the chance to do the same in real life, continuously running into walls and other things while people throw stuff at him.
Who the hell is chopping onions?! Tell me dammit! *breaks into full blown cry* WHYYYYY!!!!???? Why did you have to leave me X play :( why..... *sniffle*
OMG! Nostalgia trip! I remember this episode with that neighbor game. I'm looking for the Golden Sun: The Lost Age review episode, know where I can find it?
I've uploaded all of the episodes I could find, these old x-plays are surprisingly rare. You could try the g4 site, most of it is dead but there are still video links to a good amount of reviews.
Viewtiful Joe Do you mean like downloading full episodes? I found these (and a bunch of other techtv stuff) online. Look up "slapapple tech tv". That download has x-play and extended play, the only episodes included were the ones I've already uploaded though. It also has a ton of Screensavers, Unscrewed, and a couple of other shows.
John Smith That sounds good to me, thank you \m/. G4 were assholes to fuck over gamers and others by going towards a somewhat "GQ" (acronym for shit) sort of lineup and format of shows because they were afraid of their image. Style is temporary but knowledge is forever. I miss these shows. I learned so much from Screen Savers, Attack of the Show (when it was about tech) and I laughed my ass off with X-play. Oh well...good times though.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the whole g4 rewind thing was by an intern or someone working at the place where they have the archives. For some reason these old g4 shows are still locked away there. As far as I know there is a g4 canada that airs reruns of old G4 shows sometimes but beyond that it seems like they just want to forget it exists.
wow I was 13 in 2003.. time flies real fast huh.. nowadays I dont even watch TV anymore..
I was 15 back then. Man I miss those times. Being a teen in the 2000s was the absolute best.
You can see here, all the energy they had, they looked like their souls hadn't been sucked outta them like at the end of G4. All a damn shame.
PanicGreen Was it really that bad at the end? Do you know what happend?
Adam got fired in May 2012 so suddenly, in the last episode he was in, you can see his head move to look at the VP off-camera. He knew he was screwed.
how can you tell with this abysmal quality

Back when xplay was great
-Fullscreen the video
-Shutting off my smartphone
-Imagining that its 2003 again
the good ole days of gaming...
Yes, the days where gaming wasn't as overpopulated of Cod idiots. Gaming was important, but not ridiculously outrageous as it is now.
Stricken 7th yep back when things were pure passion, niche, and authentic.

Look how happy they used to be.
Everyone was. The 2000s were a truly magical time
I've loved Tiger Woods 04 since I got it two years ago~
adam and morgan were talented af if they had to a live show 5 days a week for almost 10 years.
wow i think the sess was on the stuff even back then lmfao
The people chasing Morgan were fans of DBZ, FMA, Gundam, Avatar, Yugioh, and Naruto.
So very many happy memories of G4!

John Smith awesome, thanks
This is back when devs actually gave a damn. Back when they sold you the whole game and dlc was optional. Good days, G4 is missed.
