    OH! The sounds, the faces, all that friendly energy. This brings back so
    many memories of all the lovely people I got to know while I lived in
    Ho Chi Minh City. I found the language so difficult and the hot, wet
    weather so annoying, but the experiences there added so much to my life.
    I hope the Vietnamese find new motivation to continue posting new Easy
    Vietnamese videos to acquaint people around the world with the
    Vietnamese language and bits of Vietnamese life and culture.

    This is a southern accent
    - The northern accent is pronounced correctly, and is a bit heavy
    - Southern accent is easy to hear and softer
    - in addition to the central voice.
    I come from Can Tho City
    đây là giọng miền nam
    - giọng miền bắc thì phát âm chuẩn, và có vẽ hơi nặng
    - giọng miền nam thì dễ nghe và nhẹ nhàng hơn
    - ngoài ra còn giọng miền trung nữa.
    tôi đến từ TP Cần Thơ

      CUz Vietnamese is created from Cantonese, Thai, Hmong, French , English .

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Wrong, Vietnamese is related to the Mon-Khmer language. Vietnamese, Japanese and Korean have 60-70% borrowed words from the middle age Chinese. While the Madaran and Cantonese have 85 to 95% of the words come from middle age Chinese. French and English only influence 2% of the language in words that like: white shirt, tie, container, screwdriver, wrench, gun, soap... Vietnamese have nothing to do with Thai, both a from different language family groups. Peoples thing it's related cause Vietnamese and Thai have some common tone, but both are not the same as Chinese, Korean and Japanese. The word for magazine in Vietnamese is tạp chí, Cantonese is tāptrí, Korean is jabji, Japanese is zasshi. The word for pervert in Vietnamese is biến thái, Cantonese/Madaran is Biàitài, Korean is byeontae, Japanese is hentai. The word for marry in Vietnamese is kết hôn, Cantonese/Madaran is Jiéhūn, Korean is gyeolhon, Japanese is kekkon.

      @ericjohnson6634 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That statement ☝️ is utter nonsense. Vietnamese is an Austroasiatic language related to none of the languages mentioned, although it took a lot of vocabulary from Middle Chinese, as well as a few words from French.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Huyen Nguyen đấy là vì anh ấy học tiếng Việt tại Việt Nam và được tiếp xúc và giao tiếp với người Việt 24/7, còn bạn thì học tiếng Anh tại Việt Nam nên chắc chỉ được học từ 2 tới4 tiếng 1 ngày và không được sử dụng và giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh nhiều nên tiếng Anh của bạn nó mới không tiếng bộ

    • @LinhLe-iu5yn
      @LinhLe-iu5yn 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As I know, guy, all of Easy Vietnamese members are in Southern Vietnam, therefore almost everything here is related to Southern dialect. They are a NON-PROFIT group ,so don't make an order, if you want an episode in Hanoi with Northern dialect, gather your own group and make one.
      I already met some EV members, and I think they are willing to share their experience with you if you really want to make some Easy Vietnamese videos in the North.

    • @plorsomnia
      @plorsomnia 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the amount of North Vietnamese videos that help others learn vietnamese far outweigh the amount of of videos that do the same with the Southern Accent. Therefore, this is helpful for those who want to know the Southern Dialect.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wesley Tran no one say it's helpful, everyone said it sound ugly cause of that's South accent.

    • @LinhLe-iu5yn
      @LinhLe-iu5yn 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are SOME PEOPLE saying it helpful and no one said "it's sound ugly" (it sounds ugly, to be grammatically correct), just "strange" if you really paid some attention. The accent is only fairly recognized by people in the particular region, so the Northern accent, which you highly compliment here, sounds strange and difficult to many others. And generally, the Southern accent is considered much much more to listen and to understand than the Northern.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Linh Lê look at all the comments in the previous video (episode 1) and the Southeast Asian language video. Everyone there saying Vietnamese sound ugly and bad cause of the Southern dialect. I has looked to all the comments in all Easy Vietnamese and I didn't find anyone saying Southern dialect is helpful.

    Vietnam language = It seem mandarin mix khmer together particularly tone, sound, word and accent.
    I think. I’m not both. I’m Thai person.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Soraka The star child no, Thaidog. It related to the Mon-Khmer language, but it sound nothing like the previous Khmer language and the old Mon-Khmer language. Also Vietnamese didn’t sound that much like Madaran, but it sounds more likely similar to Cantonese, Hokken and Taiwanese cause they’re all related to the Middle Chinese language and Vietnamese have 80% of the vocabulary from the Middle Chinese language.

    • @vaynethenighthunter3110

    These used a lot of English words in this video, such as conversation, event, and topic. Is this normal for Vietnamese people to say English words like this?

    • @quynhtranbaonguyet6466
      @quynhtranbaonguyet6466 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It is pretty common among young people and office workers who are regularly exposed to English. "Event" and "topic" are usually used in place of their Vietnamese equivalents ("sự kiện" and "đề tài"), not "conversation" though. A few other English words that we tend to use are "check", "test", "add", "fix", "comment", "order", "confirm", "approve", etc. Hope it helps!

    • @plorsomnia
      @plorsomnia 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is very common to mesh English words with Vietnamese in the States and Canada. My parents do it quite often and I will do it if I don't know a certain word in Vietnamese.

    • @johncallmecove762
      @johncallmecove762 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quỳnh Trần that’s an interesting point. I’ve also been told that back to the time when VN was strongly influenced by the Soviet Union both in terms of politics and culture, that is the ‘pre - Đổi Mới period’ if we can call it like this, Vietnamese had borrowed quite a few words/collocations from the Russian language. Is it true and if so, do you think Việt people use it at present time?

    • @vanessacorey789
      @vanessacorey789 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, borrowed words are common in many languages, especially English, in the age of the internet and mass international travel and tourism. In my experience, as others have noted, there are some Russian and French words that are also used as borrowed words in Vietnamese.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jeffrey Thomas why? Cause our language has more phonemes than any other western and Asian language (52 vowels, 24 consonant and 6 tones)
