    There used to be some bream on that length years ago. It was before LFB Angling club had the lease it was known as the Doctor's, don't know why. Above the woods the Northern Anglers had the fishing up to Halfpenny bridge.

    Grew up match fishing the warks Avon as a junior with Redditch . Always always set up a link rod to fish down the edge on the stick line . It was always good for a bonus perch or dog roach ... great way of fishing and defo helped me become a better chub angler on the tip these days 👍🏻😊😊

    will have to dig the old sigma wand out... the shot pull off easy if snagged. I dont tend to use a swivel but just push a small shot up the link of line to create a small loop..main line might not run as free as using a swivel so will give that a go next time

    I fished the sand bank opposite on the day of the video. I'm pretty new to fishing and I'm a bit baffled with your set up. I always thought that your hook length was supposed to be less than your mainline ? I noticed that on the day you fished you also fished the float and it seemed to produce a few better fish for you, is this in your next video. Thanks in advance

    • @cadencefishinguk
      @cadencefishinguk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite sure what's baffling you Baz🤔 Alan uses lighter hooklength line which is standard practice. We also filmed material for another video on the day. Cheers, Chappy 👍

    • @bazchapman2725
      @bazchapman2725 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Chappy, now I'm really baffled. Alan clearly states in the video that he has a mainline of 2.6lb and a hook length of 3lb. Although they are both different diameters they are still obviously 2 different breaking strains. It would appear that your mainline could break before your hook length which doesn't seem to be correct. I tend to do a lot more sea fishing than coarse at present and it would seem logical to have the breaking strains the other way around. I await your reply hopefully quicker than waiting for a cod bite. Cheers Chappy

      Hi Baz, It dioes seem Irish but Bayer 2.6lb has a diameter of .15 mm or theteabouts while Silstar Match Team.10 mm actually comes up on the micrometer at just under .12mm. Think diameters rather than breaking strains.

    • @bazchapman2725
      @bazchapman2725 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers for the swift reply Alan. I was baffled earlier and now I'm in a bit of a birds nest with your answers. Looking at it a different way, say you were fishing for barbel surely you wouldn't use a mainline REGARDLESS of diameter that was of a lesser breaking strain than your hook length? If I'm in the wrong I think I must be on a steeper learning curve than the steps you and Chappy climbed up at the end of the day after making the video.
