@@904TallerTim he didnt mean to; he was holding left click to fire and suddenly transported back to the totem but didn't stop holding left click in time. A few shots hitting the totem is enough to destroy it. it's pretty common with inexperienced and even experience Revenant players.
Honestly, Newcastle is the only Defensive Legend I actually like. His kit takes some getting used to, but the mobile revive can be a lifesaver in close fights, his mobile barrier is great for pushing snipers, and his Ultimate serves as mobility and cover for you and your allies, as well as allowing you to quickly fly to defend them when they’re low on health or downed. He can be really good, if you can restrain yourself from pushing every fight first.

I gotta say, you played that tactical shield quite well. I remember how you played before you hired that coach who told you how to play walls and do the head glitch and this is some impressive improvement. I love it especially, since I'm playing the game like a headless chicken and will never get better, haha.
I mean he is definitely good but he's hard to play. I think one of the things that makes him hard is just how many different ways you can use his kit, you can even use it to help the enemy teams lol. Like with gibby it's pretty hard to use bubble wrong and gunshield is always helping, so he's a lot more approachable as a somewhat similar role.
I loved watching you playing Newcastle, I think it was because how clean your peaking was on his tactical that you were able to use it most effectively

Newcastle, use his ult offensive. If ur low and being pushed, instead of retreating towards teammates, jump over enemys so theyre between you and your teammates. When theyre behind cover, place it to left or right of it to gain an angle, forces them to retreat and ur teammates can push up. Newcastle is awesome man

How to make Newcastle viable: -Buff the health of his tactical and ultimate shields. Especially the tactical. -Cut the Tactical throwing animation's length in half. Make the drone's movement twice as fast (both when redirected and first thrown), and deploy twice as fast when making firstTactical. -Fix his Ultimate. Give him bonus armor until he lands the jump or something. Half of the time he doesn't land where you want him to. The other half of the time you can't get off the ground for the jump because you get downed so fast. Cut the time to actually get off the ground in half and give him boosted toughness until he lands his jump. I get maybe his abilities aren't intended to be used in the middle of gunfire, but when you have the ability to put up your own cover from fire, and you start getting shot at, your first instinct is more than likely to try and put that cover up, and the fact that we are incapable of using his abilities in a way that is intuitive to the game's design is a massive problem.
Nope I've been using newcastle since he dropped and he doesn't need a buff. Learn to play him and always stay behind ur teammate and don't forget to use ur tactical when talking heavy fire. When ur teammate is down immediately ult to him (if u can handle the enemy) then revive. He's really good
I’ve been mailing Newcastle since season 14 and I gotta tell you, he isn’t as bad as many of you think he is. I’ve been using his rez shield like a pre patch lifeline rez and pairing that with a peace keeper is unbeatable 🙌🏽 plus his clutch play making potential is really good and I really recommend him to people who want to play more of an anchor roll.
You always gotta run a shotty with newcastle. He is so good to play and is probably pretty OP in terms of in fight resses you can get with. Newcastle is such a high skill ceiling legend that many can't just play him like you play octane

On the topic of Newcastle last night my team got squad wiped by a solo rank 66 Newcastle. I had to call it a night after that one and debate on wether or not to uninstall the game. I can’t convince myself it was totally circumstantial and not a skill issue 😅

Newcastle's fun to play but his kit simply isn't strong (or versatile) enough to ever be meta. It's very situational, your teammates usually don't take advantage of it (as a solo queuer) and sometimes you end up helping enemies with it.
