My Dad died the same year as Witt Lowry's Dad. It was actually just a few months after his Dad passing. Mine passed on Christmas morning, 2015. He was 7 days away from his 57th birthday. I can relate to this song, because my Dad went downhill fast. We went from not knowing he was really sick, to him passing within 2 months. He hid it from my brother and I, because he didn't want to scare us. In the midst of the pain of losing him, GOD gave me profound peace from the moment he passed, and grace ever since. I watched my Dad give his life to Christ because of me, 3 years before he passed. He saw the faith in me, and chose to do the same. So I have peace in knowing he's in Heaven. Remember, the greatest form of rebellion against the pain of loss of losing a loved one, is to make a life worth living; living it abundantly and seizing the day to honor them and to create a generational legacy as a warrior who didn't quit.
i lost my grandfather to cancer a couple weeks after he lost his dad. listening to him since before we both lost our people makes this song hit me so hard.
