Noob question. Can I use the dsp cable and use it on crinacle zero red? Planning to get both iem's soon alongside with a portable dac (if things will turn sideways.) 😂
@@ravinopana820 I don’t think you’ll have poor performance. Use the Link App to tweak your DSP cable. My beef with the May is that on its own, the IEM is crappy. It needs EQ like air. And the DSP cable, while can be used with ANY other IEM (in your case the Reds), can only be configured on an Android device because the subpar app. Why don’t you buy the DSP cable separately if you have Android and the Reds already?
Sounds like a really excellent value proposition, especially if you like or are looking for a keep-it-simple-stupid approach to "does it all", and dont care if that means being in a walled garden. Super Reviews says he couldn't make DSP work using other music players, android-based or otherwise. So it seems there's some kind of handshaking going on whereby moondrop's cable somehow defeats or negates DSP unless it is coming from the moondrop app. Would be very cool if you could test this yourself and report back to us. One can get around this easily enough by just using another cable, though? Hiby music app has both graphic and parameteic EQ built in, and is available for both android and iOS. I'm sure there are other parametric EQ apps out there for both platforms, as well
I've seen some reviewers say that putting a 4.4 cable on them changes a lot and improves them quite a bit. Could you please put a 4.4 cable on them and tell me how much they would improve and what other IEMs they would be comparable to so I have a reference of how much they would improve?
I guess it was only a matter of time before DSP came to iems. I bet Crin is going to have a project involving DSP, which I'm totally ok with. I don't get why some take issue with that. No one is forcing you to buy his stuff lol

You can theoretically configure it to your liking on an Android device, then just use it like that with your iPhone. The Link app from App Store did not recognize my May. Wasn’t able to use it properly with iOS. Without an Android I couldn’t tweak anything and just listened to it with the default setting. No mo magic. Just cardboard sound.

It got a lot of noise floor when you use the preset EQ, I found out that they only disappear when you put the preq gain all to 0 manually
Wish they had an option to get just the May's without the DSP cable to cut the cost down as im only interested in the IEMs over the cable
Yes, it's a bit weird that they didn't offer both options.
The price is good for the drivers you’re getting. But it NEEDS EQ. The Phoenixcall is a superior choice, but it comes at a higher cost.

I wanted to know does it have a harmon target curve..i have 7 hz salnotes zero and i like the tonality a lot..will it be a good upgrade for me ?
I wouldn't really consider this one an upgrade. Check out the Kefine Delci, Ziigaat Nuo or 7Hz Sonus.

Even with a balanced cable, there are better options out there (Kefine Delci, Simgot EW300 etc).

The usb connector does not fit the iPhone.

Yes, you can use the cable with other iems. Whether it reduces quality or not will depend because with freedsp you can now eq your truthear red.

EW200 sounds more natural and effortless. May has thinner note size and upper mids can get a bit shouty.

Also there is no app for these cabled IEMs. The app is only for wireless IEM.
The app works with the FreeDSP cable and is needed to change the EQ.
The app available in the Apple App Store only gives the option for using wireless IEM. It may be different for the android phone user.

Yes, it does.
Testing them with a different and more premium cable can noticeably change these IEMs, I saw it in another video and I would like you to confirm that.
I tested them with a couple of cables. The sound signature is very different without the DSP - less upper midrange lift in particular.
