  • Underwater explorer and trailblazing conservationist, Valerie Taylor’s life has been one big adventure.
The woman in the pink wetsuit burst onto our TV screens in the 1960s, stunning viewers with rare images of the ocean world.
Valerie’s work with sharks is legendary and her advocacy relentless. She’s swum with the most feared sharks in the world and on the rare occasions she’s been bitten, has dived right back in.
With her cinematographer husband, the late Ron Taylor, Valerie famously worked with director Steven Spielberg on the blockbuster film Jaws, capturing thrilling images of great white sharks in the wild.
This two-part special takes a deep dive into Valerie’s remarkable life, revealing precious home movies from Valerie’s childhood and behind the scenes footage from her most influential films.

She’s amazing and what a life she’s led and she’s proof humans can evolve and learn to care for their environment instead of destroying it.

I have loved and followed Valerie Taylor ever since I started diving. I have swum with hundreds, maybe thousands of sharks since, they are amazing, incredible creatures. Once you dive with a shark, all other dives are just.....ordinary.

It's simple corruption by the government. If a deadly attack happens after the nets are removed the current government has no chance of being voted for another term. Nets are there for visual perception of safety that unfortunately a huge % of Aussies believe it. Just another topic Aussies can chat about but corruption will win every time. Enjoyed the program and special mention to the educated protectors fighting for what only is fact. Any type of Shark does NOT hunt human beings! PERIOD

Val and Ron Taylor did filming for JAWS ! they were given the task of filming real Great White Sharks , and the footage of the real great whites underwater was used in the Jaws movie!

So why do it again for Jaws 2? 😂
I love Valerie but she and Ron shot more footage for Jaws 2, knowing full well the impact Jaws had.

Quick Tip: If the used knickers you've been using to sniff have started to lose the smell, just lightly steam over a freshly boiled kettle to reactivate the scent
