I can’t believe they didn’t just have Rocksteady go ahead and make a Justice League game. But the thought of them as boss battles with less powerful characters intrigues me most in terms of gameplay.
I want to see how Barry ends up getting brainwashed since it looked like he was fine during him and John Stewart segment
Pros:

- Hard to tell if combat will be fun just from footage
This basically looks like Sunset Overdrive with hints of Crackdown but set in the DC universe within an amazing Art Deco City of Tomorrow of Metropolis. It looks like a blast but I'm far more excited about exploring Metropolis, has so much personality from the retro futuristic cars to the Art Deco architecture inspired by films like Metropolis to the retro 1950s posters it all just looks really good.
It's crazy seeing people compare this to a game like Fortnite because it's wacky? There's colour? I can't really see the Fortnite comparison at all, Seems people just call whatever they dislike "Fortnite" instead of giving any real arugments.
People complain about things in the batman games that they never complained about until now it's just goofy and you're take is awesome man I'm glad others like the game too

Yeah after watching this it did make me think of sunset overdrive, which isn’t a bad thing, they probably should have gone with this first instead of what we got 9 months ago because after seeing this I’ve got some interest in it again…I think it’s gonna be short though…I don’t know why but I have a feeling that it’s not going to be a particularly long campaign like 6 hours or something but I hope I’m wrong
What it looked like to me
I’m pretty sold on the game personally, but I HATE that it feels like melee keeps being tip toed around. I’m hoping the next insider shows it off cause the melee they have shown off is just like one hit or animation, give me some combos please
it is literally a shooter. why would melee be a focus or super in depth. it would be nice if i was but its foolish to expect that in this type of game. lol
@@treyjordan1284 it is a shooter I’m not asking for straight up free flow combat, but they keep saying, and we have seen in the UI, that there are equippable melee weapons. There should be more to melee if that’s the case but it’s not shown
@@treyjordan1284you’re right. The thing is- this shouldn’t be a shooter. Deadshot- yes of course give him every type of gun. The rest of them should take a completely different approach to combat. King Shark has fists the size of my body and a multiple rows of razor sharp teeth. He should be a brawling behemoth. Captain Boomerang… I mean it’s in the name. His combat should be more focused on throwables and maybe traps. Harley could be the Jack of all trades- using throwables like dynamite, hella melee combat with bats and hammers and such, and it wouldn’t hurt to give her a pistol. I think the main issue is that the characters feel most different in terms of traversal rather than combat which is a shame given the fact that their nature easily encourages different types of play-styles.

Its a gun focused game, which personally, isnt a bad thing, not sure why so many have this lust for melee, both can be just as boring, depends on how its done, looks like getting new weapons, gear, skins, will all be a thing, some of course locked behind the battlepass, but they did say free post launch content, so, trade off...
Seeing deadshot flying just makes me want rocksteady to make a Batman beyond game. Can’t even imagine what their Neo Gotham would look like

This gives me marvels guardians of the galaxy vibes. Tbh, the gameplay kind of grew on me. I actually kind of want to play it now. Although the problem is, batman literally one shotted Harley in Arkham city. And does so all the time. And the rest of the squad are nothing but side missions to batman. He better be unbeatable in the boss fight. I'm losing it if he loses to Harley, like that would be the biggest disappointment in game history
Harley already defeated NightWing in Arkham Knight, she's definitely competent. Also this batman is being influenced by brainiac so he's not his true self and debatably not at full power.

I love Eidos Montreals Guardians of the Galaxy game but my biggest problem with the suicide squad game is that im not a fan of any of these characters id rather play as the justice league you know its like if they made a X-Men villains game but you were stuck playing as X-Men villains like mystique, pyro and blob instead of the cooler characters like Magneto, sabretooth, juggernaut and apocalypse
I’d like it if they pulled a fallen order with vader…But I doubt it
Guardians of The Galaxy didn't have multiplayer, or a battle pass, or live service elements, or generic call of duty guns, or any DLC actually, it was a perfect normal story game, just like Batman Arkham.

Genuine question; why does everyone keep expecting the Free Flow combat? Since the game was announced they always said it was a third person shooter.
It’s a superhero game, melee is mandatory period. Imagine releasing a call of duty and being like “oh actually this is a hand to hand combat game”. Just because they said it from the start doesn’t mean it’s a good decision
@@camilofranco5303 The Punisher game on PS2 was a shooter. Guardians of the Galaxy was also a shooter. 🤷♂️. The Call of Duty example is a bit odd to me because every CoD game is called CoD; This game doesn't have Arkham attached anywhere in the title (I know it's obviously set in the Arkham verse but I am working off your example.). The if it's a good or bad decision part doesn't really go towards my question; I am just wondering why people keep expecting the Free Flow combat when they said it will be a third person shooter. Personally I like the change; in my opinion it gives it a fresh feel; so many games have gone on to copy the Arkham combat; so I like the change.
It's just what Rocksteady has been known for. The Arkham games fundamentally shaped how the superhero genre works nowadays. The spiderman games, with their amazing success, directly were inspired by free flow combat. It's difficult to not expect something similar when they made such a masterpiece.

I’m gonna judge this game as an action rpg 3rd person shooter type game and not an Arkham game that way I can appreciate it more

I’m still excited for this game. Admittedly hate that an online connection is still required, but I trust Rocksteady will deliver a great story. Plus I think the gameplay looks fun. I just hope the mission structure isn’t super repetitive like Avengers.
I’m low key just hoping that when the Wonder Woman game comes out the rocksteady design is in it as an alternate suit or something like that

If you were planning on playing this just for Kevin’s last performance as Batman I suggest you just watch the cutscenes on here when it comes out. Trust me you’ll save money

i know they mentioned more characters will be added in future updates(hope the game does well enough to justify that) but one member of the suicide squad must be added and his name is Eric Needham aka Black Spider. I don’t know about y’all but it seems to me like melee is secondary to the third person shooting. Are there any combos you can do? Marvel’s Avengers at least had melee and range combat. Idk.

Man I hate how they completely changed the art style from the Arkham series where it was real grimy and dark, it feels way too saturated and cartoony from what they previously had imo

Rocksteady has no choice. WB under Zaslav wants the future of WB games to focus more on live service..atleast that's what Zaslav indicated in a recent WB earnings call.

So no it's not another Batman game but the characters, Metropolis and story looks good and interesting.
Yes live service elements sucks but Battlepass is only cosmetic and post launch content will be FREE.

Oooookay thank god it’s just a actual gadget and they didn’t give him genuine Speedforce powers. I’d still much prefer Reverse Flash in this game but at least there’s a decent explanation why he has those abilities without breaking his character.

As someone who played the Arkham games since he was 6, it hurts me to say that this game will be worse than gotham knights.
But the think is, how did that happen?
Why does it have a battle pass?
Why does it look like fortnite?
And now that we got spider man 2, and saw how good a superhero game can be, I think no one will buy this game,me included.

Okay, here is an explanation why are we not getting new Batman game
It's because Kevin Conroy is gone. I feel like Rocksteady just want to make a new type of game. They can't just make another Batman game and replace Kevin Conroy voice with an A.I voice.
And also for the combat gameplay. Yeah it's third person shooter game but we need melee type of gameplay. The game directors of Rocksteady said there is melee but adding a shooting type is gonna feel more new
Batman combat gameplay is what Batman suits him. That's what the devs said, Batman is more darker but this is a new game
I'm not trying to be positive and say, this Suicide Squad game is gonna be good. I still don't like the online stuff or battle pass, that is still not good. I'm only interested in this game because of traversal because it seems like it's gonna be fun. But other than that, not interested in the story

People calling the visuals trash are just butt hurt, you can’t tell me these look any worse than Gotham Knights. As he mentioned, I’m intrigued to see more melee combat I’m hoping it’s more than just animated finisher moves. I also want there to be close corner fights rather than so many out in the open to mix up the variety. The map looks gorgeous but I’m really hoping there are side missions and collectibles included because if not all that space is going to feel real empty real fast.
Being a rocksteady game set in the Arkham verse has absolutely set this game up with so many expectations it wouldn’t have had else wise which is why I think people are so incredibly hard on it…but looking at it as is, it doesn’t look too bad. Not groundbreaking, but fun with an interesting story. I’d wait for it to go on sale but I think I’d definitely buy it

really not looking great combat wise when king shark is using guns and not his strength in melee combat. also boomerrang should just have different boomerangs not bunch of guns and it seems like it 1 basic melee thing for harley super weird.
Still don't understand the complaints. Live service? Yeah that sucks but you can still play and enjoy the base game without doing any future events or anything.
Also, why is everyone so shocked that is a shooter? The Suicide Squad almost entirely use guns in every recent movie they feature in, and none of them canonically would fight like Batman. Even if Harely did in Knight, that's only because that games specific gameplay was built exclusively for free flow combat. Boomerang wouldn't fight like that and neither would dead shot or SHARK. THEY ARE FIGHTING ALIENS. WHY WOULD THEY USE FISTS WHEN THEY CAN USE GUNS LIKE WHAT

It’s pretty upsetting that it took a several month hiatus to “fix” things but they’re keeping the live service aspects of the game, I really want to play this game but for all the wrong reasons. I have ZERO interest in playing as the SS, but I do want to hear Kevin one last time.

But here's the thing, I don't want to kill the Justice League, the world needs them, so is this going be like a fake out or something?
They gave zero thoughts about each characters play style and traversal! They all just shoot guns instead of having different and unique mechanics and classes. Harley should be strictly melee, only using bats, mallets, and bombs! Deadshot should be the only one using guns! Captain Boomerang should just use boomerangs of different types. Explosive, incendiary, freezing, heat seeking, electric, poison etc... King Shark should be the big brute like Hulk in Marvel Avengers game, punching and smashing enemies, charging at them and just shoulder rushing them. Picking them up and biting their heads off etc.
Traversal should have been more unique and tailored to the actual character, and based off their historical comic lore. Harley should use a pogo stick to get around the map, bouncing all around! Captain Boomerang should have his boomerang glider like in comics and animated movies, similar to Knightwing in Gotham Knights. I'm ok with Deadshot and the jet pack, but he should be the one with the grapple gun connected to his wrist guns. King Shark traversal is fine, leaping around like Hulk.
Kinda reminds me of high on life and halo combined! Cant wait to play :)
It doesn’t look awful, not good, but not terrible. I’m hoping they’re gonna show melee combat. All of the Arkham games has great combat so to completely change what people love would be disappointing. Hoping for the best for this game

It's so weird because I feel like if this game came from literally any other studio I would probably be really into this, after all I'm a big fan of the Division. But it's just so difficult not to want that free-flow combat from Rocksteady, and it's painful that it seems entirely absent. Also having loved the enemy variety in the Arkham games its painful to see them all reduced to just pink zombies.
This aint Gotham. Metropolis' enemies arent random thugs. And this is an invasion from Brainiac

It looks exciting to see a new take on the Arkham Verse but I am a bit sad about the reduction of hand to hand combat in the game. I am also worried about how they are going to explain Batman and Poison Ivy's return. I am hoping it will make sense and be key to the story rather than about they are just suddenly back to pull players in.

I’m a little skeptical about the gameplay, but I’m not worried about the story. I was initially going to watch other people play to see how it turns out, then I remember that this is Kevin Conroy’s final game, so wether it’s bad or good, I’ll still get it for him.
Why would you buy the game for Kevin Conroy? It's not like the money is going to him.
If the game turns out bad, all you'll be doing is supporting the creation of more of these types.

Little things I noticed in the Hall of Justice
1. 5:33 seems to be a holographic image of GL’s ring and Batman’s cowl (prob AA/AC version)
2. 5:43 a hologram of Batman beside Wayne-tech equipment
3. 5:47

5. 8:14 behind KS there is another Batman hologram that appears to have the same design that Batman will have in the game
