The case with the pervert asking the girls where his Labrador puppy was police solved 10 years later and the victim picked him out in an ID Parade .... "A man has been found guilty of the kidnap and indecent assault of an 11-year-old girl more than 10 years after the offence. James Michael William Evans, 33, of Charterhouse Road, Godalming, was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after being convicted at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday. Evans was charged on June 25 last year with kidnap and indecent assault, following an incident on National Trust land at Bunch Lane in Haslemere, on October 18, 1997. The victim recognised Evans as she had seen him a few days earlier when he told her, and friends she was with at the time, that he was looking for his lost dog. The victim was with her six-year-old brother and an 11-year-old male friend, walking along Derby Road, close to the junction of High Lane, when they saw Evans. He told them he still hadn’t found the dog and asked her if she would help him look for it. The victim went with Evans along Greensand Way to some National Trust land after it was suggested that her brother and friend look for the dog in another area. After taking her into some woodland in Bunch Lane, Evans threatened to tie the victim up before he sexually assaulted her. After the assault Evans took a photograph and gave the victim some money, threatening to spread it around her school if she told anyone. The girl ran home and told her mother what had happened. Surrey Police immediately launched an investigation which included numerous house-to-house enquiries, interviews with various witnesses, circulation of the offender’s description and a Crimewatch appeal but the case remained unsolved. On May 20, 2006, detectives investigating three reported incidents involving indecent behaviour towards young girls in Godalming, arrested Evans as a suspect. While preparing a case file against him, officers noted Evans’ likeness to an e-fit from the 1997 offence and detective constable Russell Cannon reopened the 1997 enquiry. After pleading guilty to five offences of sexually touching three girls aged 11, 12 and 14 in December 2006, Evans was arrested in relation to the 1997 offence on January 16, 2007. He was interviewed and later picked out of an identity parade by the victim, now aged 21, and the male friend who was with her when she met him. Using advanced forensic technology, unavailable in 1997, police were also able to match DNA evidence obtained from the victim’s clothing to that of Evans. He was charged with kidnap and indecent assault in June 2007. A search of Evans’ house subsequently uncovered a number of images of children as well as indecent films. He pleaded guilty to 20 counts of making and downloading indecent images of children in a separate case. Following the 11-day trial detective sergeant Matthew Durkin, of Waverley CID, said: "Firstly, I must pay tribute to the victim in this case, who successfully identified Evans more than 10 years after the offence. She has shown enormous courage and determination in the part she has played in his conviction. "Thanks to her bravery, an excellent piece of police work by officers investigating Evans in 2006, and the advances that have been made in forensic technology over the last 10 years, we have secured his conviction today." www.farnhamherald.com/article.cfm?id=221&headline=Serial%20sex%20attacker%20found%20guilty§ionIs=news&searchyear=2008

I have waited years to see the original episodes, Please if anyone has February 1992 December 1992 February 1994 and December 1994 please upload them then the first 10 years of Crimewatch UK will be complete. I really hope we all get to view every episode and the spin offs etc before 2030! so please to readers with TV archives on VHS tapes have rummage through your tapes dust them off digitise them and upload them! please you could solve an unsolved crime!
@@ryanohara476 Thanks Ryan, interesting stuff. I know what you mean about remembering a particular case that hasn't been uploaded yet. Incidentally, I've just decided to add the Crimewatch File shows to my playlist. At the moment they're all at the end of the playlist, although I might put them in date order in amongst the actual Crimewatch shows. It looks like 26 of the 32 Crimewatch File programmes are on TH-cam. I'm trying to search for the other 6 programmes. You can see them at the end of my playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PL6oCQqv2KW6XFBwE-nkjXxdh7qk80jlhC.html

Yeah, she's fit.
Hello there andy nice to see you back uploading crimewatch again. Did you have a nice break?
Yes thanks.
Will you maybe be uploading the other 999 episodes this week you said that you had?
sum of these robbers and murderers are so thick
Yes iam still alive CW UK thank you made my day
Who was the girl that was attacked in 16:21
Poor Kate Bushell her murder is still unsolved after 21 years. Btw it doesn't say here but the poor girl died from her throat being cut :(
Did they ever have any suspects?
@@ajs41 I don't believe so though they believe he was local due to the location of the murder. Orange work wear fibres were found on her body. Thanx for more uploads btw
@@rayoflight6505 my English Ma is from Newton Abbot in Devon very near Exwick in Devon davastating! So sad! R.I.P Angel fly high x
Of course, statistically speaking, it's far more likely to have been someone she knew rather than a complete stranger like the vagrant. But I assume the police checked out everyone she knew to see if they might have been responsible.
Sadly it looks like the murder of Hannah Deterville hasn't been solved either. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unsolved_murders_in_the_United_Kingdom
I hope they caught Kate Bushells killer. Heartbreaking for her family.
Did anyone watch Unfinished Business in 1998 or 1999? I confess that I can't remember it, although I can remember Jaye Griffiths being in Bugs from 1995 to 1999.
No, but as soon as I saw her I figured it was a Bugs trailer. I wonder why she isn't better known.
God, bugs lol.
Nathan Iliescu Is A Troll.
There seems to have been a noticeable increase in the number of sexual assaults being featured in reconstructions in recent episodes, especially against children.
Did they get the bastard that grabbed the poor girl with her brother?
He was sentenced to life in 2008.He was called david newton and he was caught after he did a violent sex attack on a 52 year old woman in 2006.
@@ianbousfield5007 thanks for that, whatever the sentence was, it wasnt enough. Life is too good.
Yeah what a nonce.. bastard
BBC ONE Continuity On Tuesday 27th January 1998.
Ya beauty cheers Andy you’ve made my Sunday night
The guy with the 70 child underground tickets 😂
I'm assuming the notes must of been brand new? With similar serial numbers. Strange way to launder though.😂
thanks Andy 😊
I think the first case in Hastings was linked to the double murder in April 1998 programme the guy was a disturbed individual
Yes, I just commented this without seeing yours first! He claimed to be a cannibal. Currently in Broadmoor.
Have you got November 1998 crime watch ?
No.
5:12 Holy shit! 👀
A lot of bastard nonce cases in this episode. In the robbery at 27:18 how come the police didn't check the bloody cctv?
Jesus I remember the train incident was the person ever caught?
broadmoor patient Graham fisher was convicted for it in 2010. Two weeks after this episode he murdered clare letchford and beryl o connor. He also ate a piece of clares arm.A reconstruction of their murders can be seen on the April 1998 episode .Fisher attacked and raped women for years .
5.40 mins in the man on the reconstruction outside virgin megastore looks very shifty anyone else think so?

What a bizarre thread!
I understand what it's all about though - still very unusual :)
Poop poor lil kate and the father i cant imagine finding my son like that something you would never ever get over pure evil
Did they find out the murderer for the first reconstruction?
Kate's murderer has yet to be traced.
Sadly not her older brother made a fresh appal back in 2017 but sadly nobody has been caught Xx
@@katemissfilanpurrmcdevitt hopefully the pig is in jail or dead
So very very sad. Poor Kate Bushell. Just a child.
Does anyone know if the Leeds rapist was caught? I’ve walked across that valley and didn’t remember this happening!!!
I know the man at 25.18 he was the robber lol good idea to clean the money I wonder if he got caught 🤔
Poor little Kate! 😢 Walking little Gemma as a favour & then loses her life 💔😭 I know it was a reconstruction, but the image of tiny Gemma also scared & shivering 😢 she most likely would've ended up being another victim if Kate's father hadn't discovered them! And what a thing for any parent to have to experience! 😨😢
I hope they catch the monster! In the mean time, I hope he's waking in cold sweats every night, fearing that knock on his door! 🤬
I love all dogs, tiny or huge, but I'm petite & my boy is almost as big as me & hes very protective. If you so much as look at me funny, he will block your access to me! I dont think hes had a decent sleep ever because no sound goes unheard by him! Even when he was knocked out at the vets for a procedure, he woke up as soon as they tried to take him away from me. He knows his job is to look after his mummy. He definitely makes me feel safe!
I wish in that moment, poor little Gemma could have been a bigger dog & could've protected Kate 😢
Cheers dear boy !!
You leg end! 😎👍
44:00 What a plonker .
I remember the brother and sister rape case i must have been about 8 it really creeped me out , i remember the sister saying he held the brothers hand the whole time 🙁 so sad
Was he caught?

My sympathy went out of the window when I realised she was a fan of the Lighthouse Family. Not saying she deserved to be killed, but.....
I like their music, it's easy listening.
At least it wasn't something really crass.
