Thank you, for creating this video. I have recently signed up for Microsoft 365 and was in desperate need of a video editor. You're video helped me greatly. I look forward to your Part 2!
Nice video! But May I request you to kindly come out with a video which describes about how a naïve person can record a video, create thumbnail, edit the video very professionally in clipchamp and upload the same on you-tube. The whole process needs to be explained in sequence so that a common person can do so with ease.
Thanks for this upload. I just started using clip champ so, this was very helpful. Subed & liked, much success. I'm sure you'll be at 1k subs in no time.
Really good video. Just started using Clipchamp yesterday and will watch the video again after fooling around with it some more. The first 30 seconds were amazing. Want to create a YT channel. Would love to see part 2. Maybe that would help you get to your 1,000 subscriber goal.
Glad you're enjoying the content. Thanks! Yes, it's more convenient to use the desktop version than using it on a browser and as it's connected to the internet so it won't get out dated. It will be automatically updated or you'll see a notification on the screen to update it.
@@SaadJeeTabassam yes, I subscribed and I'm working my way through them now. Just trying Clipchamp for the first time for editing for my channel :) It was good to find an up to date tutorial on this, thank you
Hello. I am very new to video editing. A couple of questions. First- are you using a paid version of clipchamp? I don't have all the tools on the left that you seem to have. Second- I am trying to add bookmarks to a video so I can tab from one section of the video to another. Help says to go to the "playback tab" and choose "bookmark." I've searched all over to find a playback tab and can't. I've googled it, gone to Microsoft help and communities. I can't find anyone to tell me. I guess it's too simple a thing but can you help me? Thanks.
Hi Maureen, I'm not using a paid version. Actually, Clipchamp has moved the content(images, music, videos etc.) categories under a single tab called "Content Library" now. It's the same thing. I have talked about that in the 3rd part(How to customize templates in clipchamp) of this course. You can find links to other parts in the description. There is no option to add bookmarks in Clipchamp at the moment, hope they will add this feature in the upcoming updates. As an alternate, you can use SHIFT + ARROW KEYS to quickly move on the timeline or you can note down the timestamps of key points you want to return to or focus on during editing. You can also use the shortcuts to speedup your workflow. I've talked about shortcuts in the next part at 5:14 timestamp. Good luck for your video editing journey!
Glad it was helpful. And yes, Premier Pro is a complex software. 😄 For most of the people, Clipchamp can do most of the stuff they need, with an easy interface. If you're interested in learning more about Clipchamp, I've gone into details in the next part(Video Editing Masterclass) of this course and in the Part 3, I've explained how to customize a template according to your needs. You can find the links in the description. Enjoy!
I'm glad the tutorial is helpful. Yes, If you're watching on desktop/laptop, click on the "CC" button at the bottom of the TH-cam player. If you're on mobile, click on the "Gear" icon, select "Captions" and there you will find the option to "Turn off captions".
Hi. Trying to copy some of your stuff. At 11:22 you bring in the 2nd video with changing colors for a background. It is bright blue, orange, purple and there are about 7 segments in the timeline above your video. After you place it below, it appears to break into many more tiny purple segments in the new timeline. Did you do anything to it that broke it up into smaller segments? As a background behind your video when viewing the colors don't seem to match the ones in the timeline. I can't duplicate that effect as you do. Thanks in advance,
When I move the 2nd video to bottom at 11:22, the segments you're talking about are created automatically and these are basically not segments or pieces but instead Clipchamp is trying to give you a quick reference of what is happening in your imported video so You can go to a certain point in the video quickly. For example: You have a 10 sec video which contains a plain color of Green, after each second the video changes it's color so there are 10 different background colors which are transitioning each second. If you import this video then Clipchamp will show maybe 10 or more frames(or segments as you say) and each segment will consist of a different color so If you want to start the video from purple color which is at 5 seconds so instead of watching the whole 10 seconds video, you can quickly see the frame segments in the video and move the playhead to that point and start editing quickly. Hope that helps...
Wow. Thx for all of that. I know what the timeline does but when I you hovered over the sample on the left bar I didn't see any of the purple. Still not sure why it appeared to be so different above /below. the video. I don't have that one on my version. If I move my selection up or down it stays the same. Appreciate the full answer. You showed us a lot of techniques. As for my previous comment can't get Microsoft Store to download to my PC. Once I select it at the store, it just displays an OPEN button. No DOWNLOAD button. Don't waste time on this one. Online is fine. Thanks
@@thebrewsterblock If you're using Windows 11 then it comes already installed. If you're seeing the OPEN button instead of DOWNLOAD that means it's already installed. Just open it and start working. The next part is a full Masterclass which contains a lot of in-depth tricks and techniques. I'm sure you'll love it. That's a very condensed tutorial with a lot of knowledge. You can find the link in the description.
Glad to hear it was helpful. You can record videos of up to 30 minutes duration at the moment. If you want to record for longer than 30 minutes then you will have to record multiple videos and then combine them together in the editor. Also, the maximum duration is same for the Free and Premium user.
That's a good question. I'm not sure what end result you want to achieve but I would suggest you to detach the audio from the media file. Right-click on the media file, go to audio and then select detach. Once you have both the audio as separate layers, you will have more control to edit and blend them together.
You can export the project to merge the clips into one video but if you want to bring back the splitted clip to it's full length then simply drag the clip from one side and it will start extending back to original length.
