    What a pain in the butt ! So all that work and find a bigger problem, Time to find a radiator shop that build themselves out of aluminum, Better than nothing I guess. I'll ask around and see if anyone has one sitting around and let you know. Bandit

    I'm lucky we have a local radiator repair shop. This past winter I worked on the radiator of my combine and needed a new one, which is not available. So, they re-cored my old one. When you say the radiator is not available, do you mean they no longer make it or is it a supply chain issue. I know last year I got a whole new radiator for my Farmall C, and 4 years ago a new radiator for my my 77. Both were beyond repair and the radiator shop told me in both cases it was cheaper to buy new than try to re-core the old.

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a supply chain issue but more than that it’s a German heritage issue. The radiator is available but $100-200 more than where I get them from usually. I can’t force myself to pay more money 🤣

    I purchased an 1855 and the top tank sprung a leak. Took the Radiator to a local shop to get fixed. Still waiting on it after a couple weeks. Hopefully get it back soon. I try to do most of my own repairs but i figured that was a task best not left to me if i wanted a functional Radiator.

    There is no way that radiator core is the only one in this world that is that size. Length and height. You may have to change the top or bottom tank, to fit the breather pipe. I know I would be looking into a transplant core. Along with a water pump and fan belt. Good luck.

    • @rosstheoliverman

      I’m sure I’ll find another one eventually. It just may take a while. Hopefully I don’t have to have a custom one made. This is a common enough tractor that there should be some soon.

    I don’t suppose Korves will have used radiators for sale? Some other places for used radiators is welters farm supply in Verona MO (couple hours south of us) or maibach tractor in Ohio. Just a thought.

      I've seen that tactic applied against a blown head gasket. The stop leak was halfway up the sleeves inside the block, and the radiator was heavy. Im fairly certain that it was most ineffective.
