Watching this for umpteenth time and I enjoy this so much. The redware is so gorgeous and she is so right that we see these pieces and hear about them and then we want to own some. I never had any redware or hog scraper candlesticks till I started watching Alice and now I have 3 early redware pieces and 2 not real early, but I have 5 of the candlesticks (just got a wedding band push up one yesterday). Also, the concealment shoe story really sparked a memory as my dad passed down this game that was played that came thru his family, called ‘The ghost in the Wall’ and it involved asking the ghost in the wall questions and listening for the answer….my guess is that was the origin of that game.
This was sooooo interesting and the concealment shoe got me started remembering …..my dad who died at 94 introduced us to a game when we were kids called ‘the ghost in the wall’ and you would ask question questions and then listen for the answer and declare it was the ghost in the wall who answered .
