My personal experience with my tibial plateau fracture and articulating cartilage defect of the lateral plateau over the last 4 years is that absolutely no PT will ever "heal" my injury and no matter how much I strengthen it doesn't make a difference because that defect heals with softer fibrocartilage and will always be weak spot of compression and chronic inflammation in the bone hence bone marrow edema. It's a no win situation. The injury prevents me from normal function in the knee for the rest of my life.
@@jesseaustin4089 nothing can grow articulating cartilage, or meniscal cartilage, absolutely nothing, that's why eventually once it wears away completely people get a knee replacement to cope with pain.
In USA people can't use MRI or xRay in their health insurance if the solicitation wasn't made by the doctor? I mean, only the doctor solicitation are accepted by health insurance but for PT isn't? Here im Brasil is like that..

Isn't there a procedure available called cartilage regeneration that is available to help with articular cartilage injuries?

I believe some states now may allow PTs to order diagnostics, but I'm not 100% sure
