I have a question about this squad being all volunteer. What does that mean? I know that one girl is the Founder, another is the Captain and they have a VP and a treasurer. Do they cheer at games or competitions? Do the do local fundraising and school promotion? I'm curious how this works and how different it is from the other collegiate cheer teams. I really like this team and the coach. She doesn't threaten the teammates to get them to perform. It is so refreshing to see. The cheer, dance and gymnastics world is full of coaches who use threats to “motive”. Tough love is appropriate at times, but I had so many coaches that used fear and threats to “motivate”. Especially gymnastics and dance coaches.
We are a volunteer and performance cheerleading organization at UNC Charlotte. This means we require our members to get a certain amount of volunteer hours. We try and volunteer as a team once a month to fulfill this. While also doing on and off campus performances that we are invited to or host ourselves such as basketball halftimes, showcases, events, etc. Hope this helps🌟
